Bass & Guitar Lessons

Welcome to Bass & Guitar Lessons, located at Stillwater, Newman Road, 107 in New Zealand. At our establishment, we offer top-notch instruction in guitar and bass guitar for both children and adults, regardless of their skill level. With over 15 years of teaching experience, our instructor, Henri Tornyai, is highly qualified to guide you on your musical journey.

Henri holds a Bachelor's degree in jazz performance from Massey University in Auckland, where he studied as part of the renowned New Zealand School of Music. He further honed his skills by spending two years in the United States, studying under the esteemed jazz bass legend, Richard Davis. Henri's passion for music extends beyond teaching, as he actively performs in various groups around New Zealand, including The Soul Pit Orchestra, 2s A Crowd, and Boom! Boom! Deluxe. Additionally, he writes and records original music under the name Henika.

With a wide range of specialties, including jazz, funk, soul, blues, improvisation, theory, and songwriting, Henri is well-equipped to cater to your specific musical interests. Each lesson is customized to meet the individual needs and preferences of every student.

Lessons are conducted at Henri's studio in Silverdale, Auckland, where he teaches guitar, bass guitar, and double bass. For those unable to attend in-person sessions, Henri also offers online lessons via ZOOM. Many students find the convenience of online sessions appealing, as there is no need to travel, and they have the option to record the session for future review.

Our pricing structure is designed to accommodate various schedules and needs. For the school term, a payment of $300NZD is required upfront, at least one week prior to the start of the term. This package includes nine 30-minute lessons, with the final week reserved for catch-ups on missed lessons. Additional lessons are available during school holidays, with more flexible scheduling options.

We welcome children as young as 8 years old, and adults of all ages. Whether you are a complete beginner or have some prior experience, we are here to help you reach your musical goals.
