Epsom North Kindergarten

Welcome to Epsom North Kindergarten, a reputable establishment located at 33 Kimberley Road in Auckland, New Zealand. While we are currently closed due to damage sustained during the Auckland Anniversary Weekend floods, we are working diligently to resolve the issues and reopen our doors. In the meantime, we have relocated our children to other AKA kindergartens in the area, and we welcome new enquiries as we have places available.

At Epsom North Kindergarten, we believe in holistic learning through play and social interactions. We foster the development of important values such as empathy, conscience, self-control, self-responsibility, respect, kindness, and fairness. We also embrace the concept of Tino rangatiratanga, which gives children the right to determine their own destiny and provides them with valuable opportunities to follow their interests and enhance their learning journey.

Our curriculum is designed to interweave core areas of Literacy, Mathematics, and Science throughout the programme. We nurture these subjects through an emergent curriculum approach, allowing children to explore and discover their interests in a meaningful way.

We encourage families and children to visit us and experience our environment. We want the transition into our space to be natural and relaxing for everyone involved. Epsom North Kindergarten feeds into several surrounding schools, including Epsom Normal, Kohia Terrace, Cornwall Park, and Newmarket Primary. These schools also offer transition visits prior to commencement, ensuring a smooth transition for your child.

With a roll of 30 children per day, we maintain a 1:10 ratio to ensure individualized attention and care. Our fully qualified and registered teaching team, led by Head Teacher Toni, along with teachers Deidre and Patricia, provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. We value, respect, and celebrate the diverse learning styles, cultural beliefs, and languages of our community. Our quality learning programs are designed based on the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, Te Whãriki.

At Epsom North Kindergarten, we prioritize the happiness and sense of belonging of our children. They have the opportunity to participate in a variety of learning experiences in a well-resourced environment. We celebrate the diverse cultures of our children and encourage them to speak their home languages. Our parents feel welcome and contribute well to the program, creating a strong sense of community.

Our kindergarten hours are from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 2.30pm, and our office hours are from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.45pm. Please note that we are closed during term breaks and public holidays.
