Roscommon Kindergarten

Welcome to Roscommon Kindergarten, located at 23 Burundi Avenue in Auckland, New Zealand. Our institution is an establishment, point of interest, and school that offers a friendly Pasifika Māori environment, welcoming all cultures with a focus on language and self-confidence.

At Roscommon Kindergarten, we have a dedicated team of fully qualified teachers who are committed to learning alongside your child and you. We believe that parents are the first teachers and we work in partnership with you to support your child's learning and development journey.

In addition to academics, we also prioritize the overall well-being of our students. We integrate healthy eating through the Healthy Heart program, which is complemented by regular physical exercise. Our outdoor area is designed to promote fun, exploration, and discovery, with a wide variety of physical play opportunities. Our caring Kaiako Educators ensure that children are protected from the elements while they explore in all weathers.

We also encourage self-care skills in our students, such as through the Mighty Mouth tooth brushing program and teaching them to take care of others and themselves. By promoting learning through play in a safe and stimulating environment, we foster communication and socialization skills, creative thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to cope with change and challenges. Our warm and vibrant inside environment reflects the cultural diversity of our kindergarten whanau, providing a wide variety of opportunities, experiences, and resources to empower and foster confident and competent learners.

As an enviro-kindergarten, we have a strong focus on sustainability and creating a sustainable culture and future. We maintain relationships within our community and collaborate with local Iwi, community groups, Manurewa Marae, Roscommon School, Counties Manukau Kindergarten Association Playtruck, and Te Matariki Clendon Library. We are proud participants in the Enviroschools program, which supports children and young people in planning, designing, and implementing sustainability actions that are important to them and their communities. This program provides pathways for sustainability education from early childhood through primary, intermediate, and secondary school and beyond.

Counties Manukau Kindergarten Association has been providing quality educational experiences and environments for children since 1952. Our 22 kindergartens and 6 ELCM centres are 100% kiwi owned and operated and are not-for-profit.
