Welcome to Flat Bush Kindergarten in Auckland, New Zealand. Our institution is more than just a school - it is a community where children and families come together to learn, grow, and thrive. Our whakatauki, or Maori proverb, encapsulates the essence of our work. We strive to create an environment where children can explore, discover, and learn both at our kindergarten and in their homes and communities. As a not-for-profit, community-based institution, we are dedicated to providing 35 hours of free childcare per week to support families in achieving their aspirations for their children.

Our fully qualified and passionate teachers are at the heart of our focus on learning. We believe in the power of play-based learning and tailoring our approach to meet the strengths and interests of each child. Through this approach, we aim to inspire our children, extend their knowledge, and foster meaningful connections.

We are proud to follow the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, 'Te Whariki,' which emphasizes the importance of relationships, wellbeing, and love in our learning program. Our culturally diverse teaching team reflects the diversity of our children, families, and community. We celebrate our differences through various kindy events and cultural activities, ensuring that every child sees themselves reflected and feels proud of who they are.

Flat Bush Kindergarten operates from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, while our office is open from 8 am to 4:45 pm. We are closed during term breaks and public holidays.
