Laidlaw College
About the Business
Laidlaw College, located at Auckland, Amersham Way, 20, is a renowned institution that stands as a point of interest and a university in New Zealand. At the core of Laidlaw College lies the essence of the Christian faith, centered around the person of Jesus Christ - the embodiment of God and man, the creator and the redeemer, the one who was crucified and resurrected.
One of the key aspects that sets Laidlaw College apart is its exceptional teaching team. Comprised of scholars with remarkable brilliance and extensive experience, they bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. Their dedication to imparting knowledge and shaping minds is unparalleled.
The programs offered at Laidlaw College are carefully crafted to empower individuals to explore and understand their own identities. With a focus on leadership development, we aim to produce leaders who can navigate the complexities of today's world with wisdom and grace.
Diversity is a cherished characteristic of our institution. We take pride in being a multicultural community, welcoming staff and students from various cultural backgrounds. This diversity is a source of inspiration, as it fuels our vision to create an inclusive environment that fosters growth and understanding.
Our faculty consists of globally-respected lecturers and researchers who are recognized for their contributions to their respective fields. Their engaging teaching methods are informed by cutting-edge research, ensuring that students receive a world-class education.
Laidlaw College has a rich history of training leaders for both the church and society. With over 90 years of experience, we have honed our craft and developed a deep understanding of what it takes to create impactful leaders who can make a difference in the world.
Our team consists of permanent staff, both full and part-time, as well as a wider community of over 100 staff members who support the delivery of our programs during the academic year. This collaborative approach ensures that our students receive the best possible education and support throughout their journey.
In June 2023, we celebrated a momentous occasion - the 100th Auckland Graduation ceremony. Students, faculty, staff, friends, whānau, and supporters came together to honor those who have completed Laidlaw qualifications, marking a significant milestone in our institution's history.
We were thrilled to support the launch of Te Wānanga Ihorangi, a new faith-based Te Reo Māori kaupapa that will be introducing two new Te Reo Māori Diplomas in February 2024. This initiative reflects our commitment to honoring and preserving the indigenous language and culture of Aotearoa.
At Laidlaw College, we believe in the power of reflection and sharing insights. Our webpage features reflections from notable speakers, such as Andy Shudall, who spoke at the Centre for Church Leadership Leaders' Day. These reflections provide valuable perspectives and encourage deeper thinking.
Rev Dr Lyndon Drake shares his thoughts on the Gospel in Aotearoa, highlighting the unique story of the land and its people. As a Christian and a Māori, he recognizes the significance of the good news of Jesus Christ and acknowledges the complexities and challenges that have marred this story. His reflections offer a profound understanding of the connection between faith, culture, and identity.
Laidlaw College is also excited to announce its co-location with Equippers College. Our Manukau learning hub will be moving to Equippers College, marking a new chapter in our journey. This relocation will enable us to further enhance the learning experience for our students and continue to provide a dynamic educational environment.
We also take a moment to honor the life of Judge Arnold Turner, CMG, who passed away at the age of 96. Judge Turner had a longstanding association with Laidlaw College, having found personal faith in Christ through the NZ Bible Training Institute. We are grateful for his lifelong commitment to service and the impact he made in our community.
Laidlaw College is committed to providing a dynamic learning environment that equips students and scholars to make a difference in their communities. Our mission is to nurture a faith that is not only intelligent but also courageous. Whether you are a student from New Zealand or any part of the world, we welcome you to join us on this transformative journey.

Reviews
"Awesome place to build your biblical knowledge and helps solidify your personal beliefs. It helps u see possible gaps in your understanding of scripture & encourages students to endeavour to fill those gaps. The history about the church is interesting & you learn so much. I'm currently in my 4th year of law, with no previous academic study, & a diploma in Christian studies, I was able to do very well in my law degree. Definitely recommend this place."
