Kaurilands Kindergarten
About the Business
Welcome to Kaurilands Kindergarten, a premier early childhood educational institution located in Auckland, New Zealand. Situated at 65 Atkinson Road, our establishment is not only a point of interest but also a school that provides high-quality educational experiences for children aged 2.5 to 5 years old.
At Kaurilands Kindy, we believe in creating a nurturing, respectful, and fun environment where children can learn and grow. We understand the importance of play as a meaningful and essential tool for learning. Our dedicated teachers are well-known for their ability to develop children's interests and establish solid foundations in learning enquiry, literacy, and numeracy.
We offer morning, afternoon, and full-day sessions to cater to the diverse needs of families. Additionally, we provide 20 Hours ECE funding for children aged 3 and above, with WINZ subsidies available as well.
As a Community Kindergarten, we place great importance on our connection with the families and whanau (extended family) of our students. We actively encourage families to be involved in the operation of the Kindy, offering regular committee meetings, parent help sessions, and an open-door policy. Our Board meets six times per year, with two of these meetings open to all parents and whanau. We welcome new members who are interested in joining our Board.
Our primary goal is to foster socially competent and emotionally robust individuals who are capable of independent thinking and action. Building children's self-worth is central to our teaching practice, and we instill values of respect for oneself, others, the environment, achievements, and creations. We are highly dedicated to being a positive influence in the lives of the children we teach.
Creating a supportive learning and teaching environment is of utmost importance to us. We strive to make our center inviting, engaging, and a place where all children feel valued and respected. Our teachers are committed to providing the highest level of education for our kindy children, and their experience and expertise are evident in their dedication to ongoing learning and professional development.
With our open-door policy, our teachers welcome discussions and communication regarding your child or the kindy program. They value the exchange of information and communication with parents, as it enhances their relationships with the children. The teaching team is always available to discuss your child's learning and provide support and advice when needed.
We also offer convenient parking at the entrance to the driveway and in front of the building, ensuring easy access for families. We encourage you and your child to come in, have a look around, and chat with us. To arrange a visit, please call Mary on 09 817 5249.
At Kaurilands Kindergarten, we are committed to providing a nurturing and educational environment that sets the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Join us in creating a brighter future for your child.

"i went here when little and i say it is fun this is frank sublette"
"A fantastic kindy that really does live up to it's name as a community kindy. Lovely staff, lovely parents and a great bunch of little people. My daughter went here for a year when we moved into the area and didn't know anyone. Now a year on, and my little girl is at school, and my son is at kindy. We now see friendly faces everywhere we go all thanks to our kindy. It's pretty simple, if the kids and teachers are happy then they have the winning formula!"
"My eldest son attended this kindy and now my middle boy is going soon to be followed by my youngest son. Which speaks volumes I think. We've been involved with the kindy for several years. We're lucky to live nearby and have made new friends and even gotten to know our neighbours better as a result. Meaning we're (kindy folk) a social community minded bunch... Supporting and contributing. The space is large and open. The teachers are passionate and consistent...I find the focus on supporting the children to learn through play the best feature...The skills and confidence fostered through child led independent play sets the kids up for life. What more could a parent ask for."
"My 4 year old son has recently started at Kaurilands Kindy and I just can't tell you enough how much I LOVE this kindy! From the moment we walked through the doors we were warmly welcomed and treated with respect and kindness. There is a huge range of activities for the children to take part in which are added to and switched around daily. It is a nurturing environment with highly experienced teachers who observe the children's interests and react accordingly. The space allows the kids to flow from one activity to the next and there is always an air of calm. The children are treated as individuals and encouraged to do things for themselves in order to become capable and independent learners. The focus is on learning through play and the teachers see learning opportunities in everything the kids do. They organise field trips to enhance discussions they have been having and do big projects around the children's interests. There is a very strong community spirit at the kindy and I cannot recommend it highly enough."
