Welcome to Mt Eden Kindergarten, located at 11A Milton Road, Auckland, New Zealand. Our establishment is not just a school, but a point of interest for families seeking a friendly and inclusive environment for their children to learn and grow.

At Mt Eden Kindergarten, we prioritize creating a culture of respect and value for everyone. We believe in learning through child-initiated free play, allowing children to explore, challenge themselves, and engage in active movement and imaginative play. Our extensive outdoor space provides numerous opportunities for children to immerse themselves in nature and develop their physical and cognitive abilities.

We celebrate and embrace all cultures, encouraging parents and whānau (extended family) to actively participate in their children's learning and contribute to our program. We have established strong connections with local schools and the wider community to ensure a seamless transition for our tamariki (children).

As an Enviroschool kindergarten, we are passionate about instilling an appreciation and understanding of responsible and sustainable environmental practices. We strive to teach our tamariki, their parents, and ourselves as teachers the importance of caring for our environment.

Our dedicated kaiako (teachers) are skilled in implementing the Incredible Years Teacher Programme, which supports young children in developing self-regulation, social, emotional, and academic competence. All our teachers are qualified early childhood educators, registered with the appropriate authorities, and hold first aid certificates. We are committed to providing the very best in early childhood education for the children of Mt Eden.

Our teachers utilize effective teaching strategies to extend children's strengths and emerging interests. We prioritize nurturing relationships to support children's social and emotional competence. Our child-centered program is based on Te Whāriki, the early childhood curriculum, and encompasses a wide range of learning resources that promote wonder, curiosity, and discovery. Literacy, numeracy, science, and the arts are integrated into our holistic approach to education.

Kindergarten hours are from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 2.45pm, and our office hours are from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.45pm. We are closed during term breaks and public holidays.
