Welcome to Grey Lynn Kindergarten, one of Auckland's oldest early childhood education providers! With a rich history spanning over 100 years, we have been a cherished hub in the Grey Lynn community. Located just off Great North Road near Bunnings Grey Lynn in the Arch Hill area, our kindergarten occupies a beautiful property that spans a full block, with entrances on both Dean Street and Home Street.

Our property is truly a sight to behold, boasting luscious plants and trees, an expansive playground complete with a tree house, fishpond, and large sandpit, all nestled within a well-established garden. It's a haven for children to explore and engage with the natural world around them.

At Grey Lynn Kindergarten, we pride ourselves on our strong environmental focus. Since 2006, we have been an active participant in the Enviroschools Programme and Kaupapa. Environmental sustainability is deeply ingrained in our culture and curriculum, as we strive to develop a close connection between children and nature. We encourage recycling, reusing, and repurposing, instilling in our young learners a sense of responsibility towards protecting and sustaining our planet.

Our dedicated teaching team is highly experienced and passionate about deepening children's learning through play. With Masters Qualifications and a commitment to nurturing learning dispositions, knowledge, and skills, our teachers create an environment where children are encouraged to follow their interests and lead their own learning. This autonomy fosters a sense of wonder and a thirst for knowledge, empowering children to view themselves as capable and competent learners.

Positive and sensitive relationships are at the heart of our kindergarten. We strive to create a sense of belonging for both families and children. Our teachers warmly welcome parents and children, engaging them in conversations that help them reconnect with the kindergarten community. Through skillful guidance, we empower children to think for themselves, make decisions in their play, take risks, and solve problems.

Our kindergarten operates from Monday to Friday, from 8.45am to 2.45pm, while our office is open from 8.00am to 4.30pm. We are closed during term breaks and public holidays.
