Glen Eden West Kindergarten

Welcome to Glen Eden West Kindergarten, located at 78A Rosier Road in Auckland, New Zealand. Our establishment is a point of interest in the community, as we strive to provide a strong foundation in early learning for children aged 2 to 6 years old.

At Glen Eden West Kindergarten, we understand the importance of early education and offer 20 hours of free learning each week. Our convenient location next to Prospect Primary School provides a large carpark for easy drop-off and pick-up.

Our dedicated team of qualified teachers has been together for over 7 years, allowing us to build strong relationships with our families and the local community. We believe in working together to give each child the best possible start in their educational journey.

One of our core values is the wellbeing and hauora of everyone involved. We offer a supportive and flexible transition into kindergarten for families, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for children. We focus on promoting resilience, social and emotional wellbeing, and the development of independence and self-help skills.

Nature plays a vital role in our curriculum, as we encourage children to be Kaitiaki (guardians) of our environment and each other. Our learning environment is filled with opportunities to connect with Papatūānuku (the earth), including an insect garden, mini orchard, vegetable garden, plant cultivation, and flower gardens. Nature provides endless learning possibilities for our tamariki.

Open-ended play is a key aspect of our kindergarten. We provide a variety of loose parts and resources that inspire children's imagination and creativity. Through this type of play, children learn important skills such as communication, collaboration, problem-solving, listening to ideas, perseverance, and resilience.

Supporting each other is another important aspect of our kindergarten. Older children have the opportunity to practice their leadership skills by supporting and mentoring younger children through natural tuakana teina relationships.

We are proud to prepare children for their journey into school. We have strong relationships with local schools and support a smooth transition for our graduates. During their time with us, children develop essential knowledge, skills, and attributes that will set them up for a lifetime of learning.

At Glen Eden West Kindergarten, children have the freedom to make choices and engage in creative play. They use resources in flexible ways and enjoy dramatic play both indoors and outside. Our environment encourages children to challenge themselves, articulate their ideas, make relevant decisions, and most importantly, have fun with their friends.

Our kindergarten operates from Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 2.30pm, and our office hours are from 8am to 4.45pm. We are closed during term breaks and public holidays.
