AIA New Zealand
About the Business
Welcome to AIA New Zealand, located in Wellington on Manners Street. As an establishment and point of interest, we are here to protect the most important things in your life: your family, your lifestyle, and your future.
Our institution offers a range of insurance options to provide financial support and peace of mind. In the unfortunate event of passing away or being diagnosed with a terminal illness, our life and trauma insurance plans provide a lump sum payment to your loved ones. We also offer financial support if you or your child become seriously ill or injured.
For those who become permanently disabled and are unable to work due to accident or injury, our disability insurance ensures a lump sum payment. Additionally, if you are unable to work due to sickness or injury, we provide a monthly payment to replace a portion of your income.
At AIA New Zealand, we understand the importance of simplicity and convenience. That's why we offer simple plans that you can easily purchase online, including basic life, rent, or mortgage protection. We also provide protection for new and existing business owners in the event that a key person becomes seriously ill, injured, or passes away.
AIA Vitality is another valuable offering from our institution. This program encourages and supports you to live a healthier life, while rewarding you along the way. With AIA Vitality, you can earn points and access tools to improve your health. You can even earn an Apple Watch Series 8 by reaching your weekly physical activity targets.
As part of the AIA Group, one of the largest life insurers in the world, AIA New Zealand has been providing insurance to New Zealanders since 1981. Our dedicated team of experienced advisers, known as AIA Thrive, is here to help you plan well, so you can live well.
If you have any questions or need assistance, our friendly team is available to help. Whether you prefer to phone, send a message, engage in a Live Chat, or request an adviser call, we're here for you. You can also find answers to common queries in our FAQs section.
We are committed to transparency and customer satisfaction. If you have a complaint, we will do our best to resolve the situation promptly. Your feedback is important to us.
At AIA New Zealand, we believe in rewarding our customers. By bundling eligible insurance policies and adding AIA Vitality, you can save on your premiums. We also offer discounts and rewards through our partners when you purchase an eligible insurance product.
We are constantly striving to improve and provide the best service possible. That's why we have appointed Ben Lovelock as our new Chief Risk Officer, effective from 3 July 2023. Ben brings a wealth of experience to the role, following the retirement of our long-serving Chief Risk Officer, Doune Connett.
Your health is our priority, which is why we encourage regular skin checks to detect skin cancer early. Remember, skin cancer doesn't hibernate over winter.
Please note that AIA acquired Sovereign in 2018, and Sovereign.co.nz will no longer be valid from 18 July 2022. To access your GO Home Loan or log into MyAIA, please visit www.aia.co.nz.

Reviews
"Thank you for sending a copy of my Life insurance much appreciated."
"Great company I submitted a claim and got paid out $15,000 for breaking my finger within a week highly recommend."
"Wasn’t able to get life insurance because i had been to seek help for my depression (would’ve thought getting help was a good thing). Answered all questions honestly as requested, wanted to sign up to the vitality programme to improve my health and well-being, to then be told I’m not healthy enough for that. It’s extremely frustrating, demotivating, and being told you’re not worth it, certainly doesn’t help with mental health."
"Very disappointing. Easy to pay hard to claim. After more than 8 years of being a paying client, I expected more."
