Long Bay College
About the Business
Welcome to Long Bay College, a leading educational institution located at 30 Ashley Avenue in Auckland, New Zealand. At Long Bay College, we are committed to providing a high-quality education and fostering academic success.
Our students consistently achieve excellent results in the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) and have an impressive track record of receiving scholarships. We are proud to be recognized as one of the top schools in New Zealand, with our graduates gaining admission to some of the best universities in the country.
What sets Long Bay College apart is our unique approach to learning. Our subjects combine class participation, hands-on experience, and textbook learning, ensuring that our students truly understand the subject matter. As Adam, a Year 10 student, puts it, "I feel like I actually 'get' what a subject is about."
But education is not just about academics. At Long Bay College, we believe in the importance of co-curricular activities, which provide students with essential life skills. From Year 9 onwards, students have access to a wide range of exciting co-curricular opportunities, and we encourage them to make the most of these experiences. Codey, a Year 11 student, shares, "With the help of the College's very supportive teachers, I have achieved more than I expected in my grades while taking my football to the next level."
Our vibrant school community also offers numerous clubs and activities for students to join. Chloe, a Year 9 student, says, "I have joined so many clubs – 9, I think now – and made so many new friends. Coding, Future Problem Solving, and Choir are my current favorites."
Transitioning from Intermediate to Secondary School is a significant milestone, and we understand the challenges that come with it. At Long Bay College, we provide a supportive environment for students and their families, helping them navigate the teenage years and develop into self-aware, confident, and resilient young adults. Even during lockdowns, we have made it easier for students to experience what secondary school life is like at Long Bay College. Issy, a Year 9 student, shares, "My first day I was a bit scared, but everyone was so nice that by the end of the week, I felt like I had belonged at LBC forever."
We take great pride in being a school where parents, students, and the community grow together in an environment of mutual respect. Our goal is to excel in all areas of school life and beyond, and we believe that college life is about more than just academics.
If you are a skilled, enthusiastic, and dynamic teacher who embraces digital learning and celebrates high academic and co-curricular achievement, we invite you to join our team at Long Bay College. Together, let's nurture the next generation of successful individuals.

"Teachers are worried about uniform rather than teaching. Most teachers are bad at teaching as well except for a few good ones here and there. Not recommended."
"Rally great school! All of the Deputy and Assistant Principals will find all ways to help and belittle you while you walk around the school, no matter what you are doing! They also have no respect! amazing skool!?"
"I walked Into the school and instead of going to class normally a student hit me in the head with a metal pipe and set me on fire. Not recommend"
"It's an amazing school, and I think it may be one of the best high schools on the north island. Firstly, its NCEA pass rate is high as a PRIVATE SCHOOL. Secondly, it's in an amazing location. You feel like u are in the countryside from all the breathtaking views. Lastly, all the teachers at the school teach from heart, and it really shows how much they care for the students. In conclusion, it is an astonishing, high achieving school that I think is highly underrated."
"My brother goes to your school, and I am absolutely disgusted at how much control you have over what students wear, my brother has come home from school crying because his very sentimental necklace has been taken off him. I think its is an abuse of power. You care more about your school reputation and what they choose to express them selves with rather then their education and wellbeing. I don’t understand how a white undershirt, black socks, non logo black shorts and lace tag on airf1 affect their study’s which is the whole reason they go to school. I have no faith in your schooling system and I know you have a 90% pass rate but that’s only cause you pay external services to give kids extra free credits. You are not helping these kids by doing that you are only making them resent school more which means they ditch more and do not pay attention to what they are being taught because it is not a fun environment and feels more like jail. You do not set them up for the future you just suppress them and feel like soldiers who have to oblige to every word and rule."
