Welcome to Auckland Flying Training School, located at Parakai, Green Road, 76. As an establishment and point of interest, we offer a unique opportunity for individuals to learn how to fly and obtain a Microlight Licence.

Our Microlight Licence program is a cost-effective way to become a pilot, with less demanding medical exams compared to a Private Pilot Licence (PPL). This makes it an ideal option for those who have always wanted to try their hand at flying, or for the budding pilot in your life.

During our flights, you'll have the chance to explore the stunning West Coast and local area. Depending on weather and traffic conditions, we may even take you on an Auckland City loop, fly around the beautiful Kaipara Harbour, visit Piha, or explore the North East or North West coasts.

One of the most exciting features we offer is the ability to play back your flight in 2D or 3D, as seen from the cockpit. This allows you to review your flight in minute detail and share it with friends and relatives. You can even overlay aviation charts, terrain maps, or satellite images, and relive your flight in 3D animation.

For those interested in pursuing flying as a career or a serious hobby, our Trainee Pilot program is the perfect starting point. This package includes an official CAA logbook to record your flight times and training sessions, as well as a 1-year recreational flying association membership.

Our standard 1-hour lessons include 10-15 minutes of pre and post-flight briefing, ensuring you have all the knowledge and skills necessary to take to the skies confidently. This combination package is designed to help you become comfortable with straight and level flight, as well as gentle turns, climbs, and descents.
