Taupaki Kindergarten

Welcome to Taupaki Kindergarten! Located in the beautiful rural setting of Taupaki, just next door to Taupaki Primary School, our kindergarten offers a warm and friendly environment where children can learn and grow while having fun.

We believe in the importance of family and whānau involvement, and encourage parents and caregivers to visit and even stay and play with their children. Our goal is to make the transition from home to kindergarten a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone. For our older tamariki attending on Wednesdays, we offer a special transition to school program to prepare them for their next educational journey.

As a primary school teacher, I understand the significance of quality early childhood education. When it came time to choose a kindergarten for my own daughter, I visited various ECE settings and ultimately chose Taupaki Kindergarten. What stood out to me was the dedication of our teachers and their child-focused approach. They truly know each child as an individual and cater to their interests, supporting their learning with each interaction. The atmosphere they have created is one of calmness and care, where children are nurtured and engaged.

Our kindergarten is well-resourced, with a wide variety of toys and equipment that are regularly changed to keep things exciting. In addition to play, our children also participate in various learning experiences such as baking, cooking, face painting, dancing, and even interacting with our resident guinea pigs and other local pets. We believe in providing a holistic learning environment where children can explore and discover new things.

Community is important to us at Taupaki Kindergarten. We host various events throughout the year, such as Mother's Day and Matariki concerts, that bring families together. Our close relationship with Taupaki School also provides opportunities for our children to learn about their community and foster relationships with older students. We value open communication with parents and whānau, making our kindergarten feel inviting and warm.

At Taupaki Kindergarten, we celebrate each child's strengths and interests through attractive displays. Our strong partnerships with parents and whānau contribute to positive learning outcomes for our children. We believe that when families and educators work together, children thrive.

Our kindergarten hours are from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, and our office is open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:45 pm. We are closed during term breaks and public holidays.
