About AAFCANS CANTEEN
Welcome to AAFCANS Canteen, a not-for-profit organization that has been supporting our soldiers and airmen/airwomen since 1915. Located at Guild Avenue in Oakey, Australia, our cafe is a popular establishment and a point of interest for both locals and visitors.
At AAFCANS, we take pride in providing quality food and beverages to our military personnel. Our cafe is part of the Defence organization, owned by the Army and Air Force. We have recently introduced a new mobile amenities vehicle, specially designed and purpose-built to cater to the needs of our soldiers. This vehicle has been a great addition to our fleet and has taken a lead role in the Lavarack Barracks mobile amenities.
As part of our strategic plan, AAFCANS focuses on technology-driven service delivery. We have identified the opportunity to expand our amenities reach on Defence bases by introducing an app-ordering system. With our new service, 'AAFCANS On-Demand', members can conveniently order food and retail items for direct delivery.
In January 2020, we revamped the interior of our Holsworthy AAFCANS Cafe to create a modern and comfortable space for our customers. The relaxed industrial style ambiance, designer lighting, and reclaimed timber features provide a welcoming atmosphere. We offer gourmet coffee, a new tea range, and a variety of delicious food options. Guests can enjoy their quick coffee fix, indulge in a snack, or simply take some precious me time while engaging in conversations or playing board games.
We are proud to contribute to the welfare of our Army and Air Force personnel. In the 2018/2019 financial year, AAFCANS contributed an impressive amount of $534,985.22 through our automated retail vending program. This program has benefited various bases, with RAAF Base Williamtown and RAAF Base Edinburgh being the top recipients.
AAFCANS has also partnered with Beraldo Coffee, an Australian veteran-owned coffee supplier. Their locally roasted coffee is now available at our cafe and across our network of coffee outlets on 26 ADF bases. Beraldo Coffee also provides professional barista training for our cafe team, ensuring that we serve the best quality coffee to our customers.
Our network of food services extends across 30 Army and Air Force bases and ADF facilities throughout Australia. We offer a diverse range of facilities, including canteens, kiosks, a tavern, and a bistro. Additionally, our mobile amenities fleet, which includes food vans and all-terrain kiosks, allows us to provide services even in remote locations and during military exercises.
In addition to food and beverage services, AAFCANS also offers various other amenities on base, such as barbers, hairdressers, post offices, mechanical workshops, clothing retailers, dry cleaners, photographers, and banks. These services are provided by our licensed agents.
When you support AAFCANS by purchasing from our branded vending machines, you are contributing directly to your base's welfare. We disburse profits from our vending program to Defence welfare funds, benefiting the bases where the profits were generated. Any excess funds are reinvested into improving our outlets and services for the benefit of our Defence force and base community.
If you have any inquiries or would like to get in touch with us, please visit our headquarters at Gallipoli Barracks in Enoggera, Queensland, or contact us via phone or email.
Thank you for choosing AAFCANS Canteen, where we are dedicated to providing convenient access to quality food, beverages, and retail items while supporting base welfare.

Reviews of AAFCANS CANTEEN
"It's the same as any other AAFCANS just in a nice building. Pricey but that's standard."
"Expensive and overpriced, you’d think they would look after their uniformed people but they are just there to rip em off. Also, expect the slowest service (if you can call it service) and long wait times for coffee, I mean long, I’ve been here almost 40mins for a Mid Flat white while I write this."
"The army people are scary"
"Standard deep fried takeaway item's plus some made sandwiches and small meals. Expensive for what it is."
"Good choice a bit pricey"
