At Vinnies Tuggeranong, we understand the challenges faced by families who struggle to cover the basics due to financial constraints. We are always seeking motivated individuals who share our community-minded values to get involved in our programs, events, and services nationwide. There are numerous ways you can contribute and make a difference.
Through our efforts, we aim to actively and passionately speak out against the causes of poverty and inequality on behalf of the people we serve. Countless success stories, such as Samantha's, who turned her life around with a helping hand from Vinnies, inspire us to continue our mission.
We acknowledge that we are on Aboriginal land and pay our respects to all traditional custodians. This website may contain images of deceased members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, which are used with the utmost respect and appreciation.
The St Vincent de Paul Society National Council of Australia Inc., endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient by the Australian Taxation Office, is a lay Catholic organization dedicated to creating a more just and compassionate society.

"There was a disgusting fishy smell when I was trying to shop but I had to leave because I couldn't stop gagging. I thought someone had died in the shop and I couldn't continue my shopping because the smell was so disgusting! I'm not going back there!"
"This Vinnies always has good stuff! The shoe selection is particularly good. I never fail to find something I like here, however in the last few years the prices shock me. On several occasions, I have found garments with their original tags on with price tags higher than the original price. If you can afford it they have great stuff but if you are buying second hand to find deals this is not the vinnies for you."
"Lovely staff. Always extremely friendly and helpful. I even had one staff member guard my remaining clothes whilst I tried things on, which was very kind. I do, however, think the prices are getting a little unrealistic for a charity store. They receive these clothes for FREE and it’s a little silly to be finding stained, damaged, low-value items getting so pricey. It’s less money going towards the charity when people are refusing to pay for $35 second hand dresses."
"Barely negotiate in a wheelchair. Like it's possible but incredibly difficult to get around. And prices are clearly set by the wealthy for the wealthy as they're only cheaper if compared to premium price tags. It is very easy to buy equivalent things brand new for cheaper than the prices set here just by shopping sales or clearance racks. Which is a problem because I would love the opportunity to reduce the amount of items that go to landfills by shopping used but just can't afford it at these prices."
