"State of the art?! NO. Reception is abysmal. Getting through on the phone takes me 30 minutes every time, and that’s just to get through to talk to someone. Arriving in person, it takes ages to line up and be seen at reception. Appalling."
"This place is now nearly fully private but for the odd doctor here or there if you are lucky and charges through the nose. We all pay a CONSIDERABLE Medicare Levi in our tax for healthcare and now doctors who don’t like medicare have decided to all go private because otherwise it’s too hard to make bonkers level money."
"Doctors are amazing but they absolutely suck at answering phones. When your in there they sit and look at the phones and when your trying to call regarding an appointment they do not answer. It’s so frustrating. And maybe change the waiting sound track it is highly annoying"
"A very disappointing experience, from what is an important primary health care service in a region of high need. My partner attended the skin clinic which was fraught from the outset. The first appointment (booked on 'hotdocs') was cancelled by a nurse from the clinic only to have it rescheduled on the exact same day? A second appointment was only honoured because my partner had retained the appointment card provided at the time as the clinic had no record of the appointment having been made. My partner then waited two+ hours to be seen. Clinically, the care described was substandard. My partner never received the full skin check (as advertised on the website) and requested at the first visit. They were instead asked to return for biopsies of lesions the dr himself assessed as “not worrying”. At this second appt, pts had been triple booked and staff were flat out - fertile ground for medical misadventure. My partner observed no handwashing btwn pts. Bruising arising from the procedure (biopsies) would indicate some skills deficit in this area (Biopsy punches are extremely sharp and should be gently twisted into the lesion to extract a sample, not literally punched into the surface as occurred in this instance). Post procedure information was cursory with no guidance at all in the written information provided on what to look out for in case of infection. Antibiotics were prescribed (unusual for such a minor procedure) which might account for this omission...and necessary due to the lack of handwashing! My partner also reported overhearing one nurse saying they "were not really up to speed with this type of work". Not very reassuring. To date, there has been no “recall” regarding the results of the biopsies, my partner was simply asked to make another appt. Fortunately, the results have been uploaded to the "my health record" enabling my partner to follow these up elsewhere, which they intend to do. We checked the service was AGPAL accredited which is surprising given my partners experience and the experiences of others reported here in google reviews. Worryingly, truncating my partners care into procedures that attract higher Medicare rebates (item 31357 etc) along with triple booking, smacks of gaming."
"I visit Dr Sam Hariri who would be the best doctor ever. He never rushes you and is so thorough. I have nothing but continual issues with reception. Yet again today I was on hold for 40 mins 30 sets. After explaining I did pathology and image today I'm required to book a follow up with Dr Sam, phone is fine to get my prescription that runs out on Thursday. The recptionist (i have her name) did not care. Just said see another doctor or my doctor end of next week. Yesterday Dr Sam said he had appointments for next week. I'm not abusive by nature but reception staff seem to be robots more than trying to assist. The hub need to address the front line staff as the doctors and nurses are beautiful caring people."
