Welcome to Bistro Seymour, located at the beautiful North Stradbroke Island Golf Club on Alfred Martin Way in Dunwich, Australia. Situated on the second biggest sand island in the world, our establishment offers breathtaking views from the dining room deck. From here, you can enjoy a bird's eye vista overlooking Brown Lake, Moreton Bay, and even catch a glimpse of the Glasshouse Mountains on a clear day. At night, the lights from the mainland create a romantic ambiance, and during stormy nights, witnessing the lightning is truly something to behold. Regardless of the weather conditions, our bistro is fully undercover, ensuring a comfortable dining experience.
The inspiration behind the name "Bistro Seymour" comes from the owner's late father, who always envisioned his son having his own place called "Chez Seymour." Although the owner, Myles Seymour, is a classically trained chef, his offerings are far from traditional fare. Influenced by his grandmother and mother, who were exceptional cooks, Myles aims to implement their treasured homestyle skills into his dishes.
At Bistro Seymour, we strive to create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere for all our guests. Led by our irreplaceable Right Hand, Kristina Groombridge, our team is dedicated to ensuring you are well-catered for. Whether you're a golfer looking for a bite after a round, seeking a snack while taking in the stunning view, or planning a long lunch or dinner with friends, our menu and venue cater to all. If you're planning a day trip, you can catch the Water Taxi from Cleveland for a pleasant 20-minute trip across the bay, and we can arrange transportation to collect you in our shuttle bus.
As a fully licensed establishment, we are delighted to assist you with plans for any special occasions. Myles Seymour's impressive culinary career includes serving four Governors of Queensland and winning numerous awards, including a Restaurant Gold Plate Award and being named the 1995 Restaurant and Caterers Association 'Chef of the Year'. After taking a sabbatical, Myles found his passion for cooking reignited through a monthly gourmet supper club he created to support the Golf Club. This led to the creation of Bistro Seymour, combining his two loves together.
