"Every staff member was kind and caring from start to finish. I felt well looked after despite being really anxious. I cant remember the names of the doctors or nurses and wish I could but all I can say is thank you for looking after me so well."
"Took my baby in via ambulance at 2:30 pm. Thankfully we were taken straight into paediatrics. The nurses were great so I can’t fault them. Bub come in with high temps & high heart rate, lethargy, just not herself. Pcr test was done and negative. Waited until around 7pm to be seen by a doctor who then requested urine. Took about an hour to get a sample & then was told may be uti. Told us we would have to wait for labs to confirm. Sent home before labs come back at 10:30 pm, was called by the doctor an hour later saying that there is no need for antibiotics. The following day baby is getting worse, took her to a local doctor who was mortified & told me take her straight into emergency. Her temp was nearly 40° & at risk of seizures. So Caboolture sent my daughter home with no reasoning or further testing on what is wrong with her. The staff are great but I can’t help but fault how little they care about getting to the cause of the problem. Still no answers on what is wrong with my baby. Prince Charles is next because I refuse to take her back."
"Kudos to this hospital. Short staffed is an understatement, but that’s not their fault. I came in on July 8, a Saturday of all times at 8:30am and was given a bed at 10am the same day. Every single health professional in my stay and transition home were informative and involved me in every single process to ensure I understood what care I was receiving. A particular shoutout to the nurses in maternity ward, where I was transferred from surgical due to shortages of beds. Nurse Maddison in maternity and a sweet lady with glasses and purple-ish hair. You all deserve the utmost praise for your above and beyond care of me and everyone in that ward. Your politeness and compassionate tone made my anxious stay, very very comfortable. With all the tone deafness happening in the media at the moment, this hospital deserves its praise. Thank you also to Dr Ratnapala and his team (Dr Abbey, Dr Michael and Dr Sam) for taking tremendous care of me."
"The staff are great! They were short staffed and did what they could to support those in pain. It is FIVE STRS for the staff running the counter on night shift. I was at the North Lakes Health Precinct and the CNC made an assessment and told me I needed to present to ER as my fistula arm was swelled from my hand to my elbow. However on presentation to Caboolture hospital it became clear that the staff are poorly resourced. The infra out wait times says 10 minutes for emergency, then a 30 minute wait and for semi- emergency it’s a60 minutes. Three hours later. I have swelling fro my hand to my elbow. I must of got bit by an insect. I don’t have pain only when I touch the area I got bit on. What makes it serious is that it’s my fistula arm which is my life line as I have dialysis. Well I’m gonna go home. It will be quicker for me to get an appointment with my doctor in the morning."
"Traumatic avoidable experience due to poor communication between staff in emergency. Nobody was on the same page. Poor night nurses wanted to help me but couldn't because there were no doctors available to start surgery on time or to sign off on pain relief, I was bleeding and in agony in front of other patients in the waiting room for hours only to be told 6 plus hours later to go home and return the next morning. 7 months later and I am still traumatised by my experience at this hospital. Outpatients on the other hand are fantastic which is why I'm not giving this hospital 1 star. They need more staff."
