The Cafe for The Common Good
About the Business
Welcome to The Café for The Common Good, a social enterprise located at Kedron Park Road in Kedron, Australia. As a social enterprise, our primary goal is to address social problems and improve communities and the environment. By operating as a café, we are able to generate profits that directly contribute to sustaining our charity's operational expenses, allowing us to maximize the impact of all charitable donations. This means that when you donate to The Common Good, your contribution goes directly towards medical research, where it is intended.
Our unique business model is made possible by the generous support of our partners and site hosts, who provide us with low to no rent spaces. We also have value-driven partnerships with suppliers such as Merlo Coffee Roasters, enabling us to keep our overhead costs low. In fact, our dedication to social enterprise has been recognized, as we were awarded the Lord Mayor's Business Award for Outstanding Social Enterprise in 2020. We have also received a Social Enterprise Growth Grant from the Queensland Government to expand our fresh food vending machines, providing nutritious food to staff and hospital visitors after hours.
At The Café for The Common Good, we embrace a farm-to-plate philosophy, supporting local Queensland growers. Our menus are curated daily, with a strong emphasis on seasonal produce. All of our food is freshly prepared onsite by our fully qualified chef. In addition to expertly crafted Merlo coffee and hot drinks, our café offers a variety of gourmet hot meals, sushi, sandwiches, soup, salads, and take-home meals.
You can find our Main Café inside the Caboolture Hospital, where we offer a wide range of options including hot meals, a sandwich bar, freshly made sushi, soup, salads, cold drinks, baked sweets, and a retail section with convenience foods, gifts, magazines, and essential items. We also have a Hospital Entry Cafe, which offers cold drinks, Merlo coffee, and a small selection of sandwiches and snacks. For those in emergency situations, our Emergency Entry Coffee Caravan provides cold drinks, Merlo coffee, and a small selection of sandwiches and snacks.
If you're looking to cater an event, why not choose Catering for The Common Good? Every catering order you place with us helps support crucial life-saving medical research. Our catering menu reflects our passion for good health, offering a wide variety of breakfast, morning/afternoon tea, and lunch options. We also have a large range of platter selections available to order, and both cold and hot beverages to accompany your meal.
We value your feedback and welcome any questions you may have about our social enterprise businesses or how we can improve your experience. Lastly, we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land upon which we live, work, and walk, and pay our respects to Elders both past and present. Thank you for supporting The Café for The Common Good, where your love for good food also contributes to a worthy cause.

Reviews
"Amazing experience"
"Terrible coffee and it was so unprofessional to hear the blonde staff member talking badly about people. Without these people you wouldn't have any business. Please do better. We won't be back."
"Great experience"
"Clean, small cafe, not accessible to the general public, doing a splendid service for our emergency service personnel and their support. Coffee is consistently good."
