"Super rustic, intimate, and dramatic interior with a great range of beers and wines on offer for a quiet 3pm bevey. We were walking through the city and decided to have a nice glass of red and my partner had a smooth glass of whiskey. Such a lovely Saturday afternoon. Definitely recommend for a cultured beverage. Will have to make plans to come back for dinner. We also recommend trying the Sheep Dog Peanut Butter Whiskey. It’s strangely romantic and earthy with a tint of nostalgia that offers a pleasant pallet to taste. It was surprising good. And we were extra surprised that it is an American whiskey, the name threw us off, we thought it was a local brew. Getting another glass."

"We were a group of 10 of us. We were informed that we could do a set menu as were a big group costing $55 per head. Ouch, very pricy. If we chose not to go with the set menu, we could pre-order our food. This helped as they wasted no time in rolling out our dishes when we were all seated. One of the nice things was that they started calling out the name of the person who had ordered the dish instead of calling out the dish name. The service was friendly. I had ordered Pan seared atlantic salmon and salad. The portion was alright - not very filling. And still a tad over priced in comparison to some other good restaurants around. But on the whole, our group enjoyed the food and ambience."

"Another delightful gem tucked away in Hardware Lane. This is an amazing restaurant with a variety of meal choices and options. The atmosphere is pretty good, the design of the restaurant is great and as with other restaurants in the same area, it offers alfresco dining and also has a bar if you want to go for drinks only. The food is absolutely delicious and the menu is really good. The seafood basket is one of my favourite meals but they also have the seafood linguini which is also a must try - this is on the chef’s specials menu. The staff are friendly and helpful and service is in a timely manner. The prices are moderate and affordable, so you can’t really go wrong with selecting anything from the menu. I would recommend a visit to this restaurant. If you are going on Thursday or Friday nights, it can get very busy and if you are two or more, I would recommend booking. #seafood #hardwarelanemelbourne"

"If I could give The Mill 100 stars I would. Hands down our best dining experience in Melbourne, both the food and drinks. The owner came to greet us and asked about what flavor of cocktails we enjoyed. He proceeded from there to hand craft a series of cocktails designed to our specific palette and were, without doubt the best drinks we've ever had. I asked for sweet and sour, my daughter sweet and Island-like, then coffee/chocolate--every drink was better than the last and didn't top the food. The steak, pasta, bruschetti (so fresh!), all amazing. If we're ever in Melbourne again we're definitely going back."

"We came here for dinner. Although the restaurant hadn't opened yet, they still brought us in and seated us at their window table. This slight gesture brought us relief after a tiring day. Everything else followed perfectly; the food was excellent as per the recommendation from their server. We started with olives and toast, then had slow-cooked pork and seafood basket as mains. We had better for these dishes, but this also does not mean these are no less delicious. With this, we bring our score to 4 out of 5. We would consider coming back to this place, not just for the food but for the overall experience."
