"best hostel I ever stayed in Sydney! I never felt this welcome and comfortable in a hostel before. Nice people, clean rooms and FREE DINNER!! Every day a different activity like poker, trivia or movie nights. Very social hostel, great location and good to meet people from everywhere. I’d definitely stay there again!"

"Nice hostel overall, has free dinner every night however the 'cooks' might not always read instructions and serve kechup instead of tomato soup. I did try to tell them . French guy receptionist was helpful. Also really nice new manager who was quick to remedy a cleaning situation. Some room for improvement with cleaners but manager is going to be hiring better ones. The pillows and mattress were great, each bed also had a plug and light. In the 8 bedroom there was plenty of space and lockers and a sink!"

"After some bad experiences at Hostels, Mad Monkey has been a breath of fresh air. Firstly surprised how clean it is, including the bathrooms! I got really lucky with a good roommate and having a smaller room. Each bed has a power socket and screens on parts of the bed for privacy. What really makes the venue is how fantastic the staff are. Every team member I have spoken to is professional and really go above and beyond to help guests as opposed to other venues that seem to have an attitude. Housekeepers are very respectful coming into rooms to clean ensuring they always knock- I had an experience staying in a hostel where staff would just walk through including males going into female dorms without even announcing themselves. Its in a great location, close to the station and they have a night manager which makes you feel very safe. The rates are great. I got the weekly rate at the moment which is a pretty good deal and the staff put on dinners every night too which helps you save a great deal on take away in the area. They constantly have events on too. Highly recommend mad monkey to anyone wanting a clean, quiet and safe venue to stay at."

"The Mad Monkey Potts Point was one of the most lovely hostels I’ve ever been to in Australia. Especially if you‘re traveling alone it’s such a nice hostel to stay in, since you‘re meeting lots of friendly and open minded people. I already stayed here as a long term member during the summer season in Sydney and as soon as I came back to this amazing city I booked myself a stay in this hostel again. A big plus is the free dinner you‘ve got in the evenings and all of the free events like beerpong and poker nights. The rooms are nice and clean and some of them even have a little balcony. The reception people are absolutely friendly and always willing to help you with whatever is going on! It’s absolutely lovely and I would highly recommend staying here, if you want to find new friends within one day after staying here! Thanks for one of the best times xx"

"I stayed here for 4 nights, its a very social hostel with one general hangout area in front of the TV and free dinner and social events every night. Staff and other guests were extremely friendly and extroverted. The kitchen isn't huge but there’s free dinner offered each night where they serve more than enough food with many people going back for seconds (I’d take a free dinner over a large kitchen any day). My only issue with this hostel was that it was fairly small and cramped. The hangout area and dining room filled up with people quickly and there was also only one male and one female bathroom per floor. I was in a 6 person room and it was extremely cramped. Three bunkbeds with about a foot of walkway space between them. Room was also very smelly and hot in the morning and got a bit better throughout the day as we left the window open. Though the small room issue was easy to deal with by just only using the room for sleeping. Beds and bunks themselves were very comfortable."
