UNO Hotel Sydney 2 Roslyn Street, Potts Point, New South Wales 2011

"My partner and I booked this place for a few nights in July. The man who greeted us was very nice, but things got weird very quickly. He insisted we pay cash for our room deposit. The battery to get into the room was dead so he jimmied his way to get us in. He said he would fix the battery later while we got dinner. That did not happen as once we got back after dinner, we couldn't find him for over 30 minutes and couldn't get into our room. Luckily, we convinced him to give us a different room with a working card reader. However, once we got to our new room, he was removing other belongings such as a suitcase, shoes, and food. The man was very forgetful and seemed very overwhelmed. There were also bags of trash and laundry scattered throughout the halls and floors. The whole place felt sketchy. I do not recommend it."

"Health Hazard!!! Arrived here this evening even looking at the outside you can tell this is not your normal hotel or even hostel. The hotel did not even have a lift after travelling 24 hours from the UK with 4 suitcases this was a very big issue. The reception was unmanned. We were greeted at current guests telling us to avoid at all costs due to the mould in bedrooms been unfit for purpose. We then nearly 45 minutes later were greeted by a very rude owner who was very threatening towards myself and family. I wouldn’t let a cat sleep here never mind a family. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to be threatened or have a trip to hospital due to the health hazard rooms. We were advised by current guests at this hotel not to check in. They advised they had to sleep in masks and keep windows open due to their bedrooms been filled with mould."

"This place needs a lot of work done to it and they need more staff as well. The TV cable cord was done and had to be replace with a portable cable antenna then the bathroom had no exhaust fan plus signs of mould growth. And no utensil or cutlery unless you ask plus the bed had dent in the middle of it and rolled about. Only positive was I was greeted by a very friendly staff member who was clearly overworked."

"Shower water would not shut off and was noisy. Staff noticed but did not take action. Rooms are quite smelly. Every part of the room is dilapidated. The floor is sticky and sloped. It was nice to have to pay a $100 deposit, but when I checked out, there was no one on staff and I had to wait an hour for a refund."

"Room was not clean when we entered upon check in. No basic necessities including soap, toilet roll etc. The hotel smelled like a rotting corpse. Windows are not child friendly as I almost fell from the top floor twice. INFESTED with bugs. Every time we entered the room it was covered in bugs crawling through shower, on the pillow, and up drains. The hotel guy was nice and polite but unfortunately I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Did not feel safe at one point during this stay. Many areas for improvement.
