"I recently dined at Langton's Garden restaurant in Kilkenny and, unfortunately, the experience left a bit to be desired. The staff experience early on in the meal let down the dinner service, with drinks orders being thrown down onto the table and servers lacking knowledge about the menu. Additionally, the sesame chicken dish was tough to chew, which was a letdown. To make matters worse, there was a wait for paying for the meal as a card machine disappeared. This made for a frustrating end to an otherwise average dining experience. These issues combined would have led me to give the restaurant a 2 out of 5 star rating. However, the restaurant manager was a pleasure to deal with and went above and beyond to address our concerns. This level of customer service is commendable and brought the rating up to 3 out of 5 stars. While the overall experience wasn't great, I appreciate the manager's efforts to rectify the situation. That said, I would suggest that the restaurant work on improving the staff experience and the quality of the dishes, particularly the sesame chicken. With these improvements, the garden restaurant could become a much better dining destination in Kilkenny"
"Another sign Kilkenny's food options have hit Rock Bottom. Service was sub standard with argumentative waiter, manager came over but not asked for. & invited / insisted the Other dinner guest try another main course also I didn't want to state my mains & starter was with out any taste what so ever ( must be a cooks super power). Still Charged for the food we didn't order & invited to try. Can't believe Kilkenny's city landmark offers Faulty Towers food & service..... Image of the actual basic food served ( garlic bread with cheese)."
"Amazing experience with exceptional food. Attended on a work trip and the service was amazing. The staff were ready to accommodate us and made out experience wonderful"
"After a long drive to Kilkenny. We stopped in here for some dinner due to it being recommended. We had high hopes for a good hearty meal but got let down. Was extremely busy. They sat us in the bar area for food as opposed to restaurant which was fine but so many people were crowding our table. For a 4 star hotel we expected the food to be nicer than it was. I got the curry which was bland. And my partner got the John Dory he’s a fish lover but he said it wasn’t nice at all left a lot on the plate which isn’t like him. Way better food places further down as we went to get more food afterwards. The cocktails are nice though!"
"Wow what a smoking area!. But barely accessible for me as there was stairs. Really beautifully appointed bar, busy food trade, great staff, all seemed to like being there. I initially felt like I didn't belong, little too high brow perhaps for an oik like me but I was immediately welcomed by a member of staff. Great pint and stunning selection of drinks. I'll be back.."
