"An hostel over a live music pub. The pub is great! Beers, good food ad amazing vibes, with a small stage for live music! The hostel, unfortunately is not that amazing. Big rooms (which is more than fine) very dirty and messed up. Toilets are dirty as well, no paper... Ok if you don't spend more than one night. The staff is very kind and helpful btw!"
"It's hard to put the magic of the birds nest into a single google review. She's a nexus, a gathering place, an eternally dying star pulsing with divine radiation. You can feel it, hear the oh so free punk and reggae all the way from the high street. Get a little closer and ooooOOhohhooh those succulent savory scents wafting from Michelin star deserving chef Alberts kitchen! Upon stepping foot on the hallowed grounds you are struck with a feeling of familiarity and community. Weave your way through titillating smokers, large barrel tables (very piratey and fun), and random chairs and stools strewn about. If you get to the door without getting caught up in a fortune telling or gripping discussion on the politics of squat raves, welcome yourself in free of judgement from bouncers or any other forms of border police. Watch your step! Theres likely a large very calm dog on the floor right when you walk in! Look up! 2 to 5 faces belonging to 2 - 5 bar staff are in good spirits, their gentle smiles say "welcome home, what can I do you for". You order, and as an expert craftsman pours you a fresh pint (or gin lemo if you're dan), you look back and take in the scene. Friends having a laugh on the dance floor, some guy reading a murder mystery from the free library, 3-11 middle aged men stand in silence enjoying a performance . In the distance, its me, in a crop top pouring seductively over the pool table, sinking my fourth shot in a row. You're lured by the warm light of the pool table lamps and the siren call that is a glimmer of light reflecting off my belly button piercing. You tap your card, and too distracted to appreciate the rationally priced drink, make a b-line for the back of the bar. By the time you get to the pool table, i've disappeared. You're left in this quite removed space. Feeling the undeniable vibe shift from bustling pub to an almost womb like cradle, you notice, bejeweling the walls are all my cool friends and lovers in deep discussion, jesting, loving, living, drinking, guffawing. A warm feeling washes over as you take in their quiet beauty. Not only the superficial, radiant skin, silky coiffed hair, but the beauty of them being there, just being. For themselves, each other, for me, and for you too. All you have to do is reach out. All you have to do is go to The Birds Nest Pub Deptford."
"Beers are extremely cheap. You can get a delicious pint for £5. Nice customer service and incomparable Trainspotting-like punk atmosphere."
"We were at a festival in London and decided to grab some food at one of the venues. I'll be honest I wasn't expecting much but this was one of the best burgers I've had in ages, soft bun, perfect amount of toppings and crispy skin on fries - plus the burger was only £6.50! We also returned the next day for a roast, there were a couple of different vegan options to choose from. I went for the wellington which was absolutely delicious. Only downside was no vegan Yorkshire puddings!"
