"Cheep and cheerful hotel. Used to live in Croydon and came back for a friend's birthday party. Good location and decent room. Just a stone's throw away for the Collanades, so there's plenty of food options if you fancy that. Would stay here again if we were doing something similar."
"It’s in need of major internal repairs. It’s clear they’re improving the outside (which hotels seem to often do)- but the inside is what needs help. Old dated carpet. Chipping paint and doors. The windows don’t fully seal/ close so when it’s cold the cold air pours in and it’s hard to access the radiator to change heat setting. The cold air is pouring into the bathroom too through leaky window. Definitely full budget condition for Best Western but you wouldn’t know it from the 19-20$ burgers at the restaurant. Basically stay here for relatively easy and relatively affordable access to Gatwick and not much else. It’s fine for a night or two. Does seem to have quiet parts of the hotel which is a pro for those needing sleep Definitely not a 4 star hotel"
"Booked Wedding Anniversary at Hotel in advance, and 2 days before they rang to day Hotel close to public without and adequate reason. Poor, poor poor and extremely disappointing seeing it always cost more to book last minute. How could they behave like that? preferring profit from Christmas party than honouring people booking in advance for their own celebration. Would never consider them again. Best Who? Think again"
"I arrived late in the evening and Asra was very helpful, on the reception. However the room I was situated in had burn marks in the carpet, chairs and very poor sound proofing. Who ever had the caugh. In an adjacent room should see a vicar for their last rights as you kept me up all night for the wrong reasons. The bathroom shower unavoidably leaked onto the floor when in use resulting in the bath side being ugly and blown. The radiator on route to me room was more of a water feature making a water pouting sound continually. Not impressed."
"Room was very small, cold and very dated. The room was 2nd floor and near the main door which meant you could hear the creaking from the springs in the door everytime it was used. The TV is at least 7 years old and placed horribly, the curtains hid the left quarter of the screen. I went to reception to ask about upgrading and the lady there was very kind and helpful but when the manager got involved it was a different story. She was very rude and insulting and a complete opposite to the first lady I spoke to. Upon returning to my room I found the radiator in the room didn't seem to work and the bathroom was even colder. I visited reception again and advised the original lady of the problem and was upgraded immediately for free. I wish I knew her name as she was very pleasant to deal with. If asked for advise on hotels to stay in the area, unfortunately this is not one I will suggest."
