“THE BEST JAPANESE RESTAURANT I EVER HAD IN AUSTRALIA ❤️❤️❤️ i got a Huraka Gozen Special and Yuzu Beer for lunch. - Tempura batter is not too thick, just perfect to make it crispy - Sashimi fresh and nice - Miso soup got salmon and egg (if i’m not wrong) in it, taste good, not like those miso soup in other restaurants that are just salty. - Sushi got wasabi in between the fish and rice, a perfect ratio. It’s my first time having Yuzu beer, it actually tastes pretty similar to yuzu chuhai to me, girls who love sweet alcohol would love it! staffs are nice and friendly, i’m sorry that i have to cancel the dessert, the lunch set had fill me up already.. Definitely will be back when i come Cairns again!!!!”

“When we first entered we were greeted with very kind staff. They cleared a table for us as they said this view is better than the other free empty table which was also outside on the balcony. Got to admit it was an amazing view and experience, the food was very nice. We ended up getting the Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Karaage & Seaweed salad to share between my partner and myself along with two lemon lime bitters. It was great, I would definitely recommend giving them a try. The scenery from the balcony alone is worth the trip.”

We've had Japanese hot pot before but my wife and I were super impressed with the service and quality. We'll definitely be back to eat at Riki.”

“Quite possibly the best sushi train I have been to in terms of food quality. The beef was amazing, the sashimi was fantastic, the pork dumplings, prawn rolls and chicken were all great too. Big selection, everything was hot and well made. Couldn’t rate it higher. Atmosphere was as expected for a sushi train chain.”

“Come early as they don’t take bookings. Don’t worry too muxh if they tell you it’s a 40-min wait (it’s not really, although your food won’t come out all together). The food is authentic and excellent!! We had (and loved!) gyoza, agedashi tofu, chicken katsu, sushi, miso soba, and tempura udon. Fantastic food!!!”

“This would have to be one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed it. The executive room had a fantastic view. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, one of the best sleeps I had in a long time. The shower was absolutely amazing, roomy and great water pressure, love the double shower head. Love the range of free movies on the big TV in the corner. Room comes with a very decent size fridge. Parking is limited and I would suggest they make it more disabled friendly somehow as the parking is part of another building and the lift closes (and I had issues getting my car out earlier) and I had a disabled person who was with me who had trouble getting from the car park to the hotel itself. We were not aware of this set up. Fantastic location and there is even a Macdonald’s attached to the building. I would stay again for sure. (PS see my other review about the restaurant which I highly recommend).”

The staff are very polite AND they completely understand the cross contamination issues that can occur with gluten. AND (again) the Sushi is SO GOOD. My family and I are so pleased to have found this new sushi bar. Very impressed. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.”

“HUGE 5 STAR recommendation for this amazing little Japanese restaurant. My friend saw reviews and said we should go. So happy we did. Returned a week to the day later with my Mum. Exactly the same amazing service and food second time round. You may have to line up if you go when they first open (it's worth it!), as inside the restaurant they only have 3 x tables seating 4 people and a long table of 8 that can be a communal table. They also have outside tables in Orchid Plaza, but the 2 Sundays I went, they were not serving outside tables. There are menus provided with pictures of each dish (or you can just look in the window as they are pictured there too) whilst you wait AND a list of what's NOT available if they have sold out of anything. V helpful when trying to make a decision whilst patiently waiting. When you are seated, you receive a jug of cold black tea too. Excellent on these humid, hot days. Now, to the most important bit, the delicious food! I highly recommend the HANDMADE chewy noodles. Cannot tell you how good these are, you have to try them yourself. Decadent, silky and delicious broths. The BEST and CRUNCHIEST Chicken Katsu curry EVER! The cold Tan Tan Noodles were absolutely my favourite - the broth... the mince... the noodles. Just heaven in a bowl. I also ordered a side of the stewed beef. Tender, falling apart in your mouth just so meaty, tasty... the stock with the softened and sweet onions. My goodness...SO GOOD! My friend had the tempura veg and said it was the best. When I took my Mum the next Sunday she said it was by far THE best Chicken Katsu Curry and rice - ever. NB: it's served with melty grated cheese on the top of half the curry sauce. Makes for extra tastiness. Next best thing about this amazing restaurant is THE friendliest and most efficient service. It's a 2 person operation, the diligent chef and his enthusiastic and genuinely friendly, smiling wife. Feels like you're eating at your favourite family members house for dinner. They both serve when busy but it is predominantly Mrs Chef who is front if house. She is always smiling and literally so quick clearing tables and taking orders. Couple of other notes to mention. They do takeaway, and if your eyes are bigger than your belly, you are given takeaway containers for your leftovers. They have EFTPOS, not AMEX though. Will take cash. Wheelchair accessible. Kids welcomed and a kids meal selection available. Soft drinks and some alcohol available (see photos as I took a picture of the fridge). Air conditioned inside restaurant but the kitchen is open and visible so not always the coolest, but who cares? If you run hot and get a bit sweaty from eating too much curry or chilli flakes over your food, there are tissues on each table to assist. Better than sitting in the open air of Orchid Plaza with zero air con. Seriously, try this place, you will not be disappointed. So happy to have found such an amazing Japanese noodle place to eat in Cairns. Will be going back again and again.”

They also have a gluten free teriyaki chicken roll, which is surprising because I've never been able to find that anywhere else before.
