“Neat little Japanese restaurant in Highland Park, tucked away in the corner and hard to spot from the road. Order using the IPad with pictures and the food comes put super quick. Lots of options available, but I was really happy their Pork Katsu Don had Egg on top. Portions are good value for money.”

“We had lunch at Mr Tanaka's. Absolutely love the food. Very fresh and authentic. Our favourites are Tuna Tataki, grilled salmon, tempura soft shell crab. The tuna tataki was fragrant as they have added lots of sesame seeds. Grilled Salmon was crispy on the outside yet soft inside. Just melts in your mouth. Tempura soft shell crab was just yum. Staff members are very polite and prompt as well. Seating is spacious. Will definitely recommend.”

“May 2023 This was our first time here. The food was excellent and certainly what we expected. The table service was very good too and the proprietor was happy to explain the decorations that surrounded the restaurant. These decorations depicted the proprietors' cooking journey in India and enhanced the Atmosphere of the restaurant. Will certainly recommend Indian Summer to my friends.”

“Found this lively Japanese Sake/tapas place nestled off dominion road. It has a nice homely feel to it, staff are polite and attentive. The chef and kitchen staff know how to make their menu, which I recommend just trying off their different appetizer items, great to share around. We absolutely loved their miso soup (some of the best ive had in Auckland yet), hot sake went down well with salt and pepper squid which just melted into your mouth. They also brought out dishes as we ate them so everything was hot and freshly made. The dumplings had a nice light pastry and good filling, also tried the melted salmon nigiri which really did just melt in your mouth. For dessert we tried the bean paste pancakes and green tea tiramisu. Both were a great way to end the meal. The pancakes came with green tea ice cream that wasn't over the top with green tea flavour and matched well. All in all my sister and I were very pleased to find this place. This is definitely going to be our go to place for catch ups. Hats off to you guys at Banzai!”

“I came in a couple of days ago for lunch with my family. The waitress was very welcoming and provided my younger brother with some crayons and an activity sheet. There was a fine selection of beer and the pizzas we ordered were delightful. (The mushroom pizza’s the way to go). It’s amazing to find that the fries were super crispy, as well as the jalapeno poppers being very spicy! (To my liking). There was an outdoor kids playground and games to play which is very convenient for children. Overall, I had a great experience here. Prices were reasonable, food was amazing, and beer was great! (Pale Ale 100%) Definitely will be back.”

“Definitely authentic Neapolitan pizza. It wants you to savour the crust with minimal sauce. Staff are efficient and friendly. The place is tiny though you will have a hard time if you want to take off your winter coat. They said the pizza is a personal size but I find that a bit big for 1 person. I will recommend sharing 2 with 3 people.”

“Authentic Japanese food and atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner we even came back again for lunch. We ordered the $42 sashimi set, the fish were all super fresh and great value - shared between three adults and a child. I also recommend the tofu miso soup (so tasty!!!), the chicken cartilage and karaage. Our little one loved the dumplings. Thanks also to the great service, the male waiter was especially entertaining - thanks for the laughs. I wouldn’t recommend the tonkatsu ramen, I think the bamboo shoots give it a funny taste.”
