"On Monday Sept. 2nd, I was walking our dog, heard a loud boom and saw smoke in our woods. When I came inside, my husband was on the phone with Butler Rural, we had no power. A lineman came to our home within 15 minutes, saw a dead raccoon near transformer, he was able to replace the fuse in the transformer and our power was restored, seriously, in no more than 20 minutes, and on a holiday! Thanks Butler Rural, great service and we really appreciated it!"
"Had a very difficult power outage yesterday. The pole and transformer came down in the yard and caught fire and we had live wires on the ground. They had to put out the fire, install a new utility pole, transformer, reconnect everything, clean up and haul all the damage away (including fixing the lawn which I never expected) all while racing to beat the storms moving in. These guys were total ROCKSTARS and worked for like 4 + hours to make sure we had our service back. You would never get that kind of service from DUKE. Thank you guys, Butler Rural is the best!!!!!"
"Yesterday a tree fell over during the wind storm and knocked the power lines to my house and my neighbors. You guys did a fantastic job showing up quicker than the paramedics do around here and got us up and running as fast as you could. Thank you so much! Your linemen are amazing!"
"Moved into our house about a year ago. The lights began flickering more and more to the point I felt like I was stroking out. Called BREC to come check it out. They were out first thing the next day. Electrician discovered a bad hot wire at the transformer. Quick fix and excellent service! Thanks!"
"We have lived in our home for 5 years and our power has went our twice the whole time we have lived here. Power goes out all the time across the street for the homeowners who have duke. As for the electricity rates. Everything is high, I have compared bills with family members and friends and Duke energy charges more per KW. I have had billing issues with them before about lack of communication but in the past year with covid they have been awesome!"
