"I would like to start by saying that I believe in the overall message and purpose of the AME congregation and any issues I present within this review are based on the interactions of a few people who are employed this specific location. This location apparently owns the unpaved an seemingly abandoned lot near this church and views it as auxiliary parking (which at the time was unmarked and had no barrier to entry of any kind). This is not to be confused with the freshly paved and well documented primary parking they have added in the past few year. The parking in this neighborhood is.... not great, to say the least. A firefighter friend of mine suffered a tragic house fire that left him homeless and without the majority of his possessions. I let him stay with me and my wife for the three months that it took him to harang his insurance into doing its job. He had taken to parking his work vehicle that he used most everyday in this "abandoned" lot that I had never seen used in my 5 years of living directly across from it. In the second month of his displacement he was approached by an employee of the church and told that he was not allowed to park their as it was auxiliary parking. He understood this and explained his situation and asked if he could park their and move his car on saturday night to ensure it was returned to an empty lot by sunday so that all members of the congregation could use it as intended. Upon learning that he was a homeless public servant, the member of the church grew MORE aggressive and demanded he move his car that very instant. While this was entirely within their right to do so in the eyes of the law, I was personally disgusted to see someone act so against the very teachings of The Lord Jesus Christ and actively apply hostility to someone in need..... really took the christ out of CHRISTian. I seek no apology or anything of the sort; I simply hope that one day we all practice what we preach."
