"I'm confused at all the bad ratings I have read. I ordered a pair of glasses and both employees were very friendly. I shop at Meijer all the time and enjoy the conversations I have with them. I do enjoy my new pair of glasses and thinking about buying another pair eventually."

"Do not go here! I came for an eye exam and had glasses made. I had to have glasses made elsewhere do to insurance. Well the prescription was wrong. I had the glasses checked twice & they were made to the prescription. I went back to Meijers & they tried to tell me they were made wrong. When I told them I had them checked twice they changed their tune. They scheduled me for another exam. 2 hours before my appointment they called and said the Dr. was sick & have to reschedule. They scheduled me for the next day. They gave me a choice of 11:00 or 12:00. I took 12:00. I show up & they tell me I'm not scheduled till 1:00. When I finally got in to see the Dr. I asked if she was feeling better? She looked confused and said I aways feel good. As if I didn't know what I was taking about. On top of all that 2 days after my initial eye exam I wound up with an eye infection. I'm guessing they didn't sterilize their equipment between patients. We have plenty of choices when it comes to eye wear. This should not be one of them."

"Horrible horrible customer service from the newest manager “Michael Adams” this man called 911 because he woke up in the wrong side of the bed. The doctor does wonderful work!"

"I had a floater in my left eye. I went to Meijer’s Optical because I needed to see an Optometrist fast. I was concerned I had a torn retina. I made an appointment for the next day. I was really surprised at the outstanding care given to me by everyone working there… Dr V.M. Camarillo was very professional and ran several test while explaining the process and importance of each test. She was kind enough to spend as much time to make me feel at ease with her diagnosis. The Optical Manager, Michael Adams, and his staff were really helpful and patient when I was picking out my glasses. Explaining the cost and discounts making me feel at ease with my purchase. In these times…being treated with respect is a true gift. You won’t be disappointed if you go to Meijer Optical in Portage."

I also have to mention the optician Mike A., from the moment I walked in he was pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable! Got great deals with my insurance!!!
