"Pay attention to signs and markings, even if they’re scuffed or not legible. It is almost all boat permit parking. Harbor police make their own rules outside of regular law enforcement. Fighting a ticket is impossible. I took photos of all the conflicting signs and spray painted curbs and asphalt, still got a ticket. Appealed, still got stuck with it. It’s a huge cash cow for the city of Oceanside, whose legislature is written in a circular and endless manner that protects their monetary interests. Especially for tourism. Just park elsewhere and walk."
