"I’ve always loved Plato’s, until I tried to sell. They told me everything was worn and torn or just out of style and that they are passing on everything. Upon examining my basket I noticed everything was in the exact place and folded in the way that I put it. The children that run the place also need to take a class in manners. The help I was received was awful."
"I have no complaints as far as what they take and don’t take, most of the staff just has a poor attitude which makes me want to avoid coming in. It’s so sad because they do have good stuff but I always get the vibe that they don’t want anyone in there."
"NO. JUST NO. AVOID THIS LOCATION. I will remove this when the store gives me back my $13. When I came in to return an item , I was rung up for the return of a shirt. I returned it with the receipt and within the time period of 7 days. All seemed well until my next visit when they seemed to have “lost my store credit” and just stared at me as I explained that I returned it correctly , I am a frequent shopper that this HSV location, and I also showed them my card charges to prove I did shop at this location. The manager could not do anything but just stand there staring at me and looking dumb. Now , when I had a minor issue with a return at the Plato’s in Madison, they apologized, gave me a discount on my purchase, and offered to look through their system over the weekend to find the issue. The customer service at Madison is SO much better. ADDITIONALLY, I tried to buy leggings at the Huntsville location and literally got an ad for the same leggings on my phone that week and they were CHEAPER TO BUY NEW than at the second hand store ($18 for used leggings?) You will not find sales at this location either. And it’s hard to sell clothes here. They offered me $10 for a whole bag of American eagle flannels."
"This location sucks and the clerk bald faced lied to the customer in front of me. Told her they don’t take kids clothes as I was standing next to the kids clothes. I should have called her out on it but I figure I’d let more people know through here, they don’t look through your stuff for real. I always go to the one in Madison and get something every time."
"Plato’s Closet is a good used clothing store and I’ve taken quite a few clothes to them and had decent luck with them purchasing stuff from me. I’ve purchased a few things from them too and their prices seem to be reasonable so I’ll continue buying and selling with them."
