With board certifications in both fields, Dr. Schnell brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her patients.
Dr. Schnell earned her medical degree from the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine, where she was inspired to specialize in reproductive endocrinology and infertility through her involvement in groundbreaking clinical research on in vitro fertilization (IVF). Following her residency in OB/GYN at Baylor University, she honed her expertise with a fellowship in REI at Wayne State University. In 1994, Dr. Schnell founded the Center of Reproductive Medicine (CORM), now Shady Grove Fertility Houston, which has helped over 20,000 patients achieve their family-building dreams.
As an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Dr. Schnell is dedicated to advancing the field of reproductive medicine. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and has published extensively on topics such as IVF, ovarian stimulation, and endometriosis.
Dr. Schnell is committed to providing compassionate and personalized care, focusing on successful pregnancy outcomes while avoiding treatments with low success potential. Her practice spans the Clear Lake, Houston, and Beaumont areas, offering patient-centered fertility care supported by the latest research.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Schnell enjoys spending time in nature, taking cooking classes with her husband, and cherishing moments with family and her two rescue dogs. Her personal interests include cycling, cooking, and engaging in outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, and kayaking with loved ones.

"I have been very disappointed with my experience at Dr. Schnell's office. I have not yet received my thorough lab results, despite having contacted the office multiple times regarding the matter. No one answers the phone regardless of the day or time I call. I have even sent messages through the patient portal, but I have received no response. The lack of communication and follow-up is very concerning and frustrating, especially as I am under the emotional stress of dealing with infertility. I would never recommend this office."

"Dr Schnell was the best with GREAT bedside manners! I’ve been on this journey for the last 3 years. She has helped means even guided me to have a successful 1st transfer. She had me on a particular protocol to match my needs. She listened to all my concerns and even did my surgery from my ectopic pregnancy. She’s very thorough and when I felt very concerned about my thyroid issues she called me from her personal cellphone to make sure my concerns were addressed. The office is great and very friendly! The communication was great in the beginning but towards the end was a little rocky. But way better than the last fertility establishment I had transferred from. Thank you Dr Schnell for making our wish come true! Currently 10wks 6days pregnant due on August 25, 2024.
