"Turning 50 last year, it was time to make a change with my overall health. I was overweight, in chronic pain, inflammation throughout my body, and in a physical and mental decline. In January of this year, I made the decision to get started. I knew the importance of maintaining and building muscle at my age while losing weight. I needed support and accountability as I began this lifestyle change. Although hesitant, I started researching personal training studios and came upon Fit For Life. I gave it a go and left my name and number. I received a quick response back and was invited to come in for a consultation. I met with Elissa, where she took her time with me and explained the program in detail. I was very self-conscious about my weight and fitness level, and Elissa was so understanding and assured me if I stuck with it we would make progress. The combination of personal training, meal plans, monthly monitoring of my weight and body composition using their “In Body” analyzer, I knew I was in good hands and singed up. Being a busy mom with a full-time job, and commuting into the city, my schedule is hectic. The studio provides very early morning hours, and has made it easy to schedule my sessions before the work day gets started, which has been key. Elissa is great at challenging and pushing me to see growth, without overwhelming me. She switches up the workouts each session and keeps it fresh and fun! Elissa has been by my side throughout my journey, providing accountability about what I was eating and my workout schedule. She has given me nutritional advice, tips, recommendations and stays in contact with me between sessions to see how I am doing and feeling. Along with Elissa, the other trainers that make up the Fit for Life Team are Chris, John, Julian & Rob. I am always greeted with energetic smiles, words of encouragement, and high fives! There are always good conversations being had, friendly banter and laughter, which makes the time fly. The clients are made up of all ages and fitness levels and everyone is so nice to talk to. The team keeps the studio so clean, its immaculate! Parking is a breeze. Thanks to the consistency Elissa and the Fit For Life Family has provided, I have been helped in ways I was beginning to feel were impossible. I am stronger each week, building muscle and I have lost 30 pounds in 6 months. I have more energy and feel happier. I still have a long way to go, but feel encouraged to continue. I highly recommend Fit For Life, whether you want to maintain a healthy life style or begin to work on yourself."
