"Go to another ER that’s not Mount Sinai because it can get scary here. The staff is ghetto & aggressive. They were retraining a patient who refused medical care across from my father who 92. The nurses accused me of recording. The security approached me aggressively to see my phone. First of all I didn’t know recording an incident is an issue, if anything it’s for everyone’s safety. However, I wasn’t recording but all the nurses helping retrain the man told security I was, even after he checked my phone. They kept accusing me I had to come out my face and show my phone again. It’s confusing how they felt the need to restrain him if he didn’t want medical care. In the end they let the man go after they tried tying him up (literally). I guess they let him go because he said he was suing them. The staff knew they were in the wrong, maybe that’s why they were so worried about the incident being recorded. I felt I was about to be restrained too if I didn’t show my phone. I was a witness. I had nothing to do with it. Not my fault I was present when they felt the need to hold him down hurting the poor guy for refusing medical care. This is a free country where you can refuse medical treatment. This place is out of control. Too aggressive, Inconsiderate & unprofessional."
"Tried to take my mom to the Emergency Department with extreme pain. Got there at 7pm. I walked out at 3:30am and she still had not been admitted into a room. Patients everywhere, so I understand it's busy, but the staff is simply talking amongst themselves and there is no activity for ANY of the patients. It just keeps getting fuller, and fuller and we'll occasionally see a doctor that will speak with us about "admitting", but quite literally without having to do scans (as we had done them in another Mt Sinai) and the patient was clearly in heavy pain and the activity level of the staff was at a stand still. The most frustrating ER situation that i have ever seen, and due to my mother's ailments I have seen a LOT of ERs. At 10am, the patient calls me that they are still in the emergency and had still not been taken to a room. 13 HOURS at the ER, and still no room? How is that even possible? We witnessed another patient, an elderly man, who literally wanted to remove his own IV cable and walk out because he was tired of being there. There was another patient who was continually vomiting and no staff came to her aid. This is NOT the place you want to go to when you need an emergency room. Though it seems over staffed, there is very little interaction with patients and when it occurs, you get spoken to and then have to wait another hour or two to get spoken to by the next staff member."
"RUN THE OTHER WAY!!! UNPROFESSIONAL, I went in for very bad abdominal pain this late night. I was to the point that I couldn’t stand still, throwing up and all. I requested the doctor multiple times. No one came. I was left in a room for 45 minutes not once did someone come speak to me nor check on me to make sure I was okay. I was literally in tears begging for them to send the doctor because the pain was so horrific. 45 minutes later I went to the desk everyone was sitting around laughing joking around and I just walked out. If you care about your health and getting proper care do not come to this ER. Never have I felt such lack of empathy, it’s like I was a bother to even be there. I took a cab to New York Presbyterian and they did what had to be done as soon as I got out in a room."
"My daughter been going here since she was 8 months old. Had the same doctor since she was 2, she is now 13! She is asthmatic with other health issues, which is what brought us in last night! It was super crowded which I expected but the staffing here has gotten WORST! Which let me say I’m officially reporting this hospital with how horrible the staff treats the parents in the Pediactric ER. Last night one of the receptionist seemed so frustrated because of the amount of times he had to do paper work because it truly was super busy, so busy they had my daughter in the hallways on a stretcher receiving her asthma medicine through a gas tank. I had my child’s coat, sweater and her bag full of belongings when he had asked me to sign a paper. I kindly asked him give me a moment , he then reached in my bag pointing at the paper to give him and was trying to pull it out of my bag after I said hold on. That was a HUGE red flag, I was super SHOCKED that he literally dug inside my bag aggressively, VERY CONCERNING and unacceptable! They also have hired young “nurses” and young “doctors” who you can tell are straight out of medical school, which not to mention they’re careless. Keep in mind my child’s 13 I been coming here for over a decade so I seen the changes before the pandemic, during the pandemic and now! I have recordings of ALL of this, I watched a group of nurses speak about inappropriate things while children are literally a few inches away from them. Speaking about there home issues, personal problems and a few sexual statements. I observed how they speak with there colleagues, which nurses were frustrated and couldn’t handle the pressure, heard doctors speaking about how unsure they were about a lot of kids illnesses so they were just going to diagnose them with RSV or pneumonia because that’s what they “think” it might be. They gave my daughter THREE treatments last night back to back, I asked if that was safe because in each dosage was 4/6 capsules which my daughter NEVER received. They were so packed they just wanted to discharge everyone. Mind you we went in for her stomach pain, diarrhea, shortness of breath, fever and she hasn’t been eating! Yes I’m glad they focused on the asthma after us waiting for over an hour for her to receive treatment but they weren’t focusing on other things as far as her health when I stated she has other health issues. At this point I’m looking into transferring her somewhere else because my last few experiences I’ve recorded, took names down and have voice notes of all this foolishness going on in a hospital. Really makes me believe they hired anyone. Receptionist are rude, they snatch from you! I just can’t, the way they treat patients are unacceptable especially children and parents!!! Below is the doctor who kept giving her medication without throughly checking my daughter for other health issues, like her heart!!! Smh so disappointed and disgusted with this hospital. My daughter was starving , they offered us nothing not even a water!!! Had us in the hallway! Ridiculous"
