"I recently went to see Dr. Lippes for Hypothyroidism. After my first appointment was re-scheduled for a month later. He had a month to review my files. He was recommended by my Doctor. First it was clear he did not review my file which was sent over. As I explained my 12 year history of how I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. He went on to say that I didnt have it and he could test me for B12 efficiency or other possible causes. Then I pointed out a thyroid sonogram, which he explained yes I do have hypothyroidism, since the wording indicates tiny scars where my thyroid was attacked by immune system. Which is a reason for one star. Then I went on to explain the 70lbs of weight gain the medication doesn’t help with then struggle of losing and gaining 30-35lbs. Which he referred to as the American Problem. He made it sound like hypothyroidism is only related to an immune disorder. Yet scientific studies indicate that the thyroid produces hormones that regulate the the metabolism. He goes on to recommend “like a used car salesman” Saxenda a weight loss injection, that in the fine print shows it increases your chances for Thyroid Cancer. It only shows 5-10% chance of loss, and that it causes nausea in some patients. I ask him what success he has seen with patients he has prescribed it to, and he could not give me a definitive answer. Needless to say, since I have thyroid issues, I won’t be taking this snake oil. He also indicated my Doctor was already doing everything that could be done, and he would continue to treat me if I wished to see him."

"As a diabetic for 30 years, Dr. Lippes was more knowledgeable about diabetes than any endocrinologist I'd ever met. He also weilded more power and respect among hospital doctor's than you could imagine. I would recommend him to any diabetic either new or with 50 years experience with the disease. He knows his stuff!"
