About the Business

Octapharma Plasma

Welcome to Octapharma Plasma in Dayton, OH, where we are committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and rewarding plasma donation experience. Whether you are a first-time donor or a returning one, we are here to guide you through every step of the donation process.

Why Donate Plasma?

Plasma donations are crucial for creating life-saving medicines for patients with various medical conditions. By donating plasma, you are making a significant impact on the lives of others while also receiving competitive compensation for your time.

First-Time Donors:

If you are considering making your first plasma donation, it is natural to have questions such as: "Where can I find a plasma donation center near me?", "What’s involved in getting started?", or "How much compensation can I expect?" We are dedicated to answering all your inquiries and assisting you throughout the donation process.

What to Expect:

1. Initial Visit: Your first visit will take approximately 1-2 hours, as it includes a donor suitability screening involving a brief educational video, a medical history review, and an extensive health questionnaire.

2. Required Documents: Please bring a valid photo ID (must be 18 years old), Social Security Card, and proof of current address (such as a piece of mail postmarked within the last 30 days, or a current lease). Active military personnel should provide their mailing and physical addresses.

3. Comfort and Convenience: Our centers are equipped with Free WiFi and HD Televisions to help pass the time. Feel free to bring books, tablets, magazines, and music players (with headphones). However, phone calls and photographs are not permitted to respect the privacy of all donors.

4. Subsequent Visits: Return visits typically take less time. We recommend calling ahead to inquire about the best days and times for a quicker donation experience.

Health and Safety:

We use state-of-the-art equipment, and our highly trained staff ensures that your donation is as easy and seamless as possible. Octapharma Plasma adheres to all U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines, permitting two plasma donations within a seven-day period, with at least 48 hours in between donations.

Preparation Tips:

- Stay well-hydrated by drinking 6-8 cups of water or juice the day before and the day of your donation.

- Consume protein-rich and iron-rich meals at least 3 hours before donating.

Compensation and Rewards:

After a successful plasma donation, you will be compensated. We also offer tiered rewards through our donor loyalty program, where you can earn points for Express Passes and e-gift cards. Download our mobile app to make your donation experience seamless and efficient with our online OctaPass.

Spanish-Speaking Donors:

¡Hola! Los centros de Octapharma Plasma aceptan donantes que hablan español. Para confirmar si su centro de donación local acepta donantes que hablan español, comuníquese con ellos mediante este enlace para encontrar su centro.

"Great people. Great place. Great cause..My mother had kidney cancer and had to have blood/plasma donated to her when they removed her kidney to get the cancer removed and out of her. It's because of places like this and the people who donate their plasma to places like this that my mother is still alive today. Thank you everyone from staff to donors!!"

"Extremely clean and bright facility. Staff is professional, polite and thorough to insure your health and safety. Nurse Miss "G"retchen provides support, knowledge and encouragement in addition to her required characteristics for the RN career here. The techs are calm, polite and clean thoroughly in all areas while caring for donors. Contrary to belief of some uneducated community members, this isn't something done by drug addicts as you must be in good health. Also folks today need to open their closed minds that some do this to offset increased prices of fuel, food, housing."

"Front desk older short lady is very rude and belittling and will talk poorly about donors while you wait in line. They do not care and the negative energy fills the room. Other donors call her "HER"" or oh " that one" . Everyone tries to avoid "Her". Once you get back 2 donate everyone is nice but probably won't be there the next time you donate. All the technicians b4 they left said it's because if you don't belong 2 "HER" mean girl club and quit. It's sad that " HER" has run the nice people away. Very disappointing and they do not care because "they" know they can b rude and donors have 2 play nice so we can get our $$."

"Had my first donation this past Sunday. I initially wanted to donate on Friday but could not do my first physical due to a staff shortage. I totally understand their situation and returned Sunday. The initial screening process was a breeze even though the kiosk does take time to go through each question. My first time caused my vein to rupture. I was ensured this happens to first-time donors and the staff took care of the situation with professionalism. We decided to use my other arm and once I gave my samples, the process was smooth sailing. I want to thank the kind staff and the technicians on the floor for their warm hearts and making my first appointment comfortable!"
