Liberty on Eighth

"Edit: We were just kicked out of our lease middle of the semester. No compensation just told sucks to be you find another place to live. I wasn't aware they could do this, and I am not sure they should be able to. They will say sorry and that I should contact them etc. in response to this review, but don't believe them. They have avoided me and done nothing to remedy the situation. I consider them cheats and manipulative taking advantages of college students that trusted them (a mistake on my part) Overall run down and not as nice as seems in presentation. Over hyped and would not recommend even compared to other places I have lived. I normally don't write reviews but I feel I was deceived enough that I feel it my duty to try and warn others. When I moved in much like others have noted it was dirty and they were not ready for us. Amenities are non-existant as they are always broken. They also have a bunch of small fees and other add ons, which is normal, but to an obscene level I hadn't seen before. I regret leasing here and would tell anyone to find somewhere else. During this time they came and ripped out our kitchen without warning. Pictured below. It was like this for a week. Edit- Recently a sewage smell has built up and I know multiple apartments are having the same issues. We have all put in maintenance requests and nothing has been done about it. It's bad enough I'm worried about a health hazard because if I spend more than an hour in my apartment I get a headache and nauseous."

"Dont' live in any apartment that is managed or owned by Redstone Residential. They keep your deposit at the end of the contract even when you leave the apartment clean. Its a scam. Managment is not helpful or responsive. Also its hard to speak with anyone in charge. UPDATE - I did reach out to the email address the said to contact and no one responded. This managment company only cares about making money. They will keep part of your deposit. Even though the contract states they only do that for damage beyond regular wear. Which, face it, these places are so old you can't make them look much worse. This company manages many properties. All the Liberty propertys, Campus Edge and Campus Way. Seriously look into who the management company is before you sign a contract for an apartment. This company should be investigated for illegally withholding deposits from hundreds (or thousands) of students. They claim to use it for cleaning, but don't."

"This apartment has been good to me the past 4 years. It gave me independence from California despite not being a college student. Come August I'll have to move out due to it's age restrictions"

"I am giving Liberty on Eighth 5 stars purely because I have been repeatedly blown away by their management. They have been very responsive and helpful. We had black mold in our apartment and let the office know, within an hour they had someone in our room cleaning it and removing the mold. My car was towed from on their parking lots after an issue with their app. I had gone in a few weeks prior to let them know about the issue and they said that they would get it resolved. Something happened and it wasn't resolved thus my car got towed. BUT they took full responsibility for not having the issue resolved and got my car released without me having to do anything. I was extremely impressed! If you are looking for a place with great management, this is it!! They are responsive, so kind, very helpful and cheerful! Seriously I love them! The rooms themselves are pretty good. The ward is fabulous! Overall this is a great place to be"

"These apartments are old and falling apart. They are in much worse condition than pictured on the website and spoken about by the office. When we moved in yesterday there was STANDING WATER under the sink and cockroaches in the kitchen cupboards. There are holes in the walls, broken drawers, water damage under the sinks and the place was FILTHY. The stove also doesn't work. There was no option for us to leave a message or call management (when you press 1 for maintenance, the call goes dead) and there was no one in the office as we moved in on a Saturday. It's been very disappointing!"
