San Marino Apartments

"Review from 5 year resident at San Marino: We lived in San Marino for 5 years. During that time, I would say 80% of our experience was positive, but the negatives were pretty significant. Overall, Kim made the biggest impact that made our experience so positive, especially toward the end. Pros: Great location, fair rent (in comparison to other places), good amenities, spacious units, the grounds' landscaping is VERY well cared for, and it's very quiet. Some of the staff are fantastic - Kim is the best there. The maintenance team is great. I appreciated that they were not super intense with observation, we did not feel like we were being watched 24/7. Cons: -San Marino had multiple instances of theft during our time there. My step mom's car got the window smashed, over 3k of things stolen in the middle of the day. My catalytic converter got stolen. In my conversations with Kim at close out, it seems they are making efforts toward fixing this. However, I made many efforts to get them to install cameras and they never did after the events took place. -San Marino has a massive trash problem. They need to adjust the trash schedule as the trashes are often OVERFLOWING, all over the place, and disgusting. They are not recycle friendly as there are no recycle units on the property. I gave this feedback multiple times, no changes. -I really did not appreciate certain staff members and their attitudes when I provided concern relating to spraying pesticide spray in our home, next to our bed specifically. I gave this feedback to the manager when we left, but Tiffany was consistently difficult to deal with and very rude. I recognize she is likely a kind woman outside of work, but I hated dealing with her. Blanche was very difficult to work with as she consistently did not give me correct information and took forever to get back to me or complete tasks. -We lived in the very back building. That road was complete ice on multiple, multiple occasions. We also were the last to get plowed and were unable to work many times during snow storms. We were injured multiple times. The ice needs to be taken more seriously due to the lack of sun back there. -Their rent payment portal is better now, but previously was extremely confusing with the amount owed. -Their after hours phone service is complete trash. We never got calls back, maintenance staff never got requests, they had no answers whatsoever. It is trash. Honestly, they need to get rid of it. -The property is not ADA compliant in a lot of ways. There are NO ELEVATORS. Good luck moving in & moving out! -There are no where near enough parking spots for everyone and guests Overall, I would recommend living here. But here are my tips - DO NOT leave anything in your car, pay your rent on time and they'll leave you alone, keep discussing the trash with them, only talk to the manager when you need something, don't even bother with the after hours line, put a camera on your door, hire movers (good luck with the stairs!), and rent a parking spot (it's worth it). We want to thank Kim for her fantastic service. She truly made a huge difference and took this from a 3 star review to a 4 star review on how she handled our move out and account close."

"We have had the best experiences living at San Marino. I’ve lived here for 5 years in 3 different apartments and love it. Today I was helped by the manger Colton to help replace my old refrigerator. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I also have had help by Moses multiple times and he is very good at fixing any thing quickly and efficiently. I give San Marino 10 stars ⭐️ and highly recommend it!"

"We've lived here at San Marino for a year and we've had a mixed experience. Pros: - The maintenance crew here is AMAZING. All requests have been responded to within 24 hours, and all of the crew have been super friendly. Honestly the best crew I've seen at any apartment complex I've lived in. 10/10 stars for them. - The location is excellent. Super closer to shopping, the Jordan River trail, and you're a short drive to SLC. - The apartment complex feels very safe. I have no concerns walking around at night alone. I've seen security vehicles patrol as well. - Our view of the mountains is great. - The apartment itself feels spacious enough and has enough kitchen storage. - Walls seem to be pretty thick and I rarely hear my neighbors through the walls/floors. - Dog park and dog bag stations around the complex. Cons: - Dog poop EVERYWHERE. Nearly all green spaces have poop, and some areas are so bad that you're guaranteed to get poop on your shoes no matter how careful you are. It's even starting to be on some of the side walks. They have requested a couple of times that people pick up/have signs, but I don't see any improvement or how that would fix the current issue. I've emailed and called about this and have either not gotten an answer or just told that they can't do anything else other than send Maintenace. (Again, I recommend simply hiring a dog poop service and/or implementing the dog DNA program to fine people who don't pick up). It's extremely annoying for responsible dog owners who DO pick up. - The color scheme/appliances/etc are fairly outdated. - The front office can be a mixed bag when it comes to being helpful. - Parking can be a pain. - No recycling for some reason?"

"We saw several apartments in SLC and ended up going with San Marino. It was the second one we toured and no other apartment lived up to San Marino. The property is beautiful and the apartments are spacious and so nice. Tiffanie was amazing! She went above and beyond to show us multiple layouts and sat with us for hours talking through everything. We are so grateful for her and the staff taking the time to help us find our new home!!"
