"Extremely disappointing and discouraging experience here. The cashier was so sweet and helpful at first telling us about the sales. I was trying on dresses with my mom and came out to show her one that I was really excited about! I loved it I thought it was so beautiful and I was voicing out-loud to my mom that I didn’t feel that white was my most flattering color but I still loved it. I was going to get this dress I loved it so much. The cashier was watching us show each other our dresses and creepily chimed in “No, white is not your color.” Your cashier made you lose a sale, you should consider who you hire more thoroughly. She went on about how her degree was in fashion and she loved helping people feel good about themselves, except that she did the exact opposite for me, I will never come back here. Guess I’m getting married in black now. She was disrespectful, snotty, and incompetent."

"some people have family members that are LDS. Went in to purchase a gift for a LDS family member, i was treated poorly because i don’t fit “the look” of an LDS person. the people working there were happy and having a good time until i went up to one of them to ask for a book. i’m not LDS personally but just because i don’t fit into the standards, doesn’t mean i can’t receive good customer service."

"I know many utahns shop at Deseret Book. I personally like Seagull Book. I fell in love with their clothing line, Sweet/Salt. They have great gifts for the kitchen, future missionaries, future members, young men & women, or just for yourself. There us a section with home storage too. You really need to visit often, as product changes.there is an excellent variety of artwork, which remains pretty consistent. The thing I like about Seagull is is that it's not just another Deseret Book. And all those lovely dress!"
