"Hotel has charged my card over $700. Charged twice for one 3 night stay. No one answers the phone at the front desk at all . Waterbugs in the bathroom were horrible. Rooms need updating"

"I recently traveled to Sherman for a funeral and booked a room at this Quality Inn thru my Choice app. Not sure if I would need the room for 2 or 3 nights, I booked the room for 3 nights and received a 20% discount. The day before my check in I called the 800 number and asked them if I only needed 2 nights would I be charged for the 3rd night? I was told to advise the hotel prior to check in, so I kept my 3 day booking. I went to the hotel about 1pm and informed them before check in that I would probably only be staying 2 nights and asked them if I would be charged for the 3rd night. I was told that the manager Malik did not work on Saturday that I would have to talk to him on Monday. On Monday morning I reminded the front desk of our discussion prior to check in and asked to speak to the manager. I was told he was not available that he was on the phone. I let her know that I had to finish packing and would talk to him on my way out. After packing my things and as I was leaving I asked to speak to Malik was told he was on another call but she had discussed my situation with him and she had my bill. I was shocked to see that I was charged $60 for the 3rd night. I was finally able to reach Malik by phone to discuss the $60 "early departure surcharge" and he tried to explain that it was a rate adjustment because I received a 20% discount with the 3 night booking, I understood that I would no longer qualify for the 20% discount but I tried to explain that the 2 night stay had a 15% discount and that the only adjustment to my rate should have been a 5% increase on my room charges for Saturday and Sunday which would have been under $10 not $60. I did call Choice customer service and did receive some compensation in form of Choice rewards points. After speaking with customer service I called Malik back and told him that I would not be staying at his hotel again and his reply was good I don't want you to stay here."

"Bathrooms need some attention - poor repair - could use a make over. Sofa has seen better days. The bed was comfy. TV channel selection was confusing with many channels that were shown on the guide as not available. It was Christmas morning and apparently they gave the breakfast staff the day off - nothing was available. No credit on my bill for this - had to visit IHOP. Seems they could have provided everything but the fresh eggs, sausage, waffles and OJ for everyone to do their own. The toilet had a valve issue as I came back from being out all day and it was apparently running all day. I turned the valve off so I could sleep in peace. My room was facing the north and found the traffic noise to be transparent with the window - definitely more noise than I like from outside (old windows - one was more closed than the other)."

"I don’t know how this hotel has a 3 star rating. First, be aware of the road construction going on around the highway. There is no elevator in this hotel. The desk clerks were friendly. The rims are dimly lit. The hotel needs upgrades to be even a Quality Inn. I’ve stayed in nicer Econolodge hotels. I can’t even begin to describe breakfast. I’ve never seen grated eggs like they served and they, along with sausage were cold. The TV in our room didn’t work and the parking lot didn’t feel safe. Also, there was still trash on the floor in the bathroom. Please do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. I am a Choice Diamond member and I won’t stay there again. Ever. I wish I had read in detail the reviews and not just looked at the star rating."

"Upon checking into our room we found a bunch of dead bugs around the corners of the room. The sofa bed hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The bathtub had loose dirt in it and our TV doesn't work. The overnight front desk clerk was useless. He wouldn't do anything about the TV issue and just gave us more towels. When I went to the desk to ask about the TV there was another person requesting a refund because he was supposed to get a handicap accessible room and they didn't have one. He was told he had to talk to the manager in the morning for a refund. This is a piss poor hotel and I don't recommend it!"
