"Awful customer service and I felt extremely mistreated as a patron. Unfortunately this is in my area of business and home where I shop regularly yet not anymore. I’m incredibly disappointed to be treated the way I was treated when I was simply confused because of the mistake the employee made and then tried to make it my fault. "I returned today (6-23) to exchange shorts for the right size. The return went amazingly well! My cashier was friendly and seemed like he genuinely wanted to help me with the return. Here’s where THAT location (5152 S Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood) failed miserably!! I’m a Director of Retail Operations for high-end cookware company, so I know retail and it’s internal store operations like the back of my hand. I went back to get the right size shorts and decided to look at more home decor in the rear of the store. I’m African American, bald headed to give an idea of where I hoped I should’ve to deal with extreme profiling that I received when I was looking at the home decor. Two to three Caucasian sales associates repeatedly asked if I needed help and kindly said that I was looking. I felt extremely uncomfortable because they wouldn’t stop looking at me and walked away to pay for my shorts. I did see a Caucasian manager but I decided to address it through Google reviews and I called their main corporate headquarters. I shopped in other T.J. Maxx including the one location off of University Place. I’ll never shop at that location ever again and those employees are lucky to be employed at T.J Maxx because they could work for me!!"
