"Had to dial the extension 13 time and didn't get a staff, therefore hung up. I never was connected to someone for assistance with my schedule appointment. Please check on answering system."
"I have a very complicated case of a rare cardiac disorder. I had tried almost every medication they could throw at me, sans the $35,000/month medication, that was not FDA approved for my disorder, that was being used on compassionate release. I wanted to try a few less expensive options, with less scary side effects. I worked with two electrophysiologists, a cardiologist, at Iowa Heart, in two different locations, over three hours apart, and a third electrophysiologist, that “specialized”, supposedly, in my disorder. I was not able to stand hardly, at all. I kept passing out and hurting myself. I wanted to try a more simple, straight forward approach, with an IV treatment. I was flat out refused, and bullied into trying this expensive new medication. A day or two before I was supposed to get the medication, I could not deal with the potential risks this medication could cause. When I asked, what the plan was, if I were to react badly, the doctor had no idea that it could happen. At this point, I had signed saying I had read all the possible outcomes, multiple times. However, the doctor couldn’t take time to even skim through them?!?!! I will never go back. I am, now, being treated with three liters of fluids, a week. I have not passed out in a few weeks. Iowa Heart did nothing to help. All they did was waste my time."
"Love my team at Iowa heart from my surgeon to my cardiologists, Pulmonologist and nurses affiliated with Mercy . Always return my call promptly when I have questions. My pharmacy stays on top of medications. Never have a problem with my refills."
"Ia heart does not refill necessary heart meds in a timely manner. This is the 2nd time they cut me off my heart meds cold turkey without warning while i call and wait. been 4 days without meds now. Do they really care about the patient..."
"The Iowa heart center seems to be to busy to speak with you directly. You get transferred and then get voice mail for them to return your call. Would it not just be easier to pick up the phone."
