"I recently visite May Eleven and having had such a great time there, it reminded me of the experience I had here at Aimee about a year ago. I came in the first time alone. I’ll state I’m a brown skinned Mexican woman. I wanted to check out a cardigan that kind of looked like the popular Taylor Swift one. I went in and made eye contact with the employee, smiled, and the employee looked back down. No one else was in the store. I wasn’t sure if it was the owner at the time but I’ve seen pictures of the owner and they looked very similar, so I assumed it was the owner. I immediately felt unwelcome and left. I came in a second time alone because I wanted to see it again and if it was in my size, again, no greeting, not asking if I was looking for anything and I believe 1 other person was in the store. It’s pretty empty most of the time I’ve been in. The next two times I went in, I was accompanied by my white friends both times, I reluctantly said yes to going in and we were greeted. Was it a race thing? Is it just an unwelcome environment for everyone? Not sure, but sure felt like a race thing. Anyway, will never go back. May Eleven is just down the street with great customer service and welcoming environment and I’ll gladly make the drive out to Hinge on 5th in Valley Junction. I’ll never forget my experiences here."

"Aimee is the best! The clothes are gorgeous, one of a kind pieces. Aimee, the store owner is so great; very helpful and she makes sure that you leave in clothes that make you look fabulous. The atmosphere is very friendly and you can even enjoy some wine if you come at the right time! ;)"

"During my first visit to the East Village boutiques in Des Moines, this was a recommended boutique to see. It was, eh, at best. The prices were pretty steep, for items I have seen more reasonable at other places. The lay out was interesting, but not easy to navigate. Pretty much things put in every place. The sale was located downstairs, in a tiny area. The staff was nowhere to be found, at the time."
