Duke's Kauai

"Food was cold and Filet Mignon came with a terrible green sauce. We came here for an anniversary dinner and were very disappointed with the surf and turf entree. The Poke tacos were delicious and the dessert was pretty good. The Filet steak came out cold and the sauce it came with is awful. I’m not a picky eater and like pretty much any sauce. They ran out of mashed potatoes too so I got fries instead. The fries were cold and bland. The lobster was good, nothing special. In the end, it came out to be $220 for two of us for one appetizer, two one entrees, and one dessert, with no drinks. I honestly think I would’ve had Texas Roadhouse for 1/3 of the price. Food quality is that of a casual steakhouse with Ruth’s Chris pricing."

"The overall ambiance of Duke’s Kauai was nothing short of spectacular. As you walk in and round the top balcony, you see a majestic waterfall and embedded into the mountain scenery. The live music was playing at the base of it, and was quite excellent the entire night. The service was great and was consistent but not overwhelming, they were also very accommodating as we had two young children. The Mai Tai’s are a must, they were delicious and ordered in bundles! We also started with the calamari, which was cooked to perfection! Overall, we found our entrees to be good, however, they were not the most flavourful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Dukes, and would recommend it for a great overall experience."

"For our last evening in Kauai we celebrated our birthday dinner here. We strolled along the beach path to explore this much talked about place. Our table was ready on time. Live music was a nice touch. Our server had the perfect personality for the job. Nicely presented flavourful meals topped off with hula pie. What a treat! Great view of the sunset from our table. A wonderful ending to our 2 week vacation."

"To get down to the details, awesome location, view and atmosphere. When it came to the food presentation was great taste was good but not impressive and service was honestly very average. For the price of everything I would say not worth it unfortunately however, if you are going for the hula pie totally worth it."

"This place was right in our resort, and it was amazing! Good: - The salad bar is AMAZING! It’s $7 for unlimited servings of salad which is an insanely great deal. You can go as many rounds as you want too. - Loved my chicken and ribs entree, the Mac salad was good and portions were huge - the hula pie was super fun, the flavors were unique too and the Mac nut was a great texture - Super nice ambiance, right next to the beach and fun live music Bad: - There was quite a wait to get our main entree - We were sat outside so there was a lot of wind and it was cold Overall this place was a great find, worth the price tag!"
