"The food here is phenomenal, we visited this restaurant twice during our stay at the island and it was such a treat each time. First time I tried the pork chops and second time the pork adobo. We even tried their Ube cheesecake, banana cream pie, and okinawan sweet potato pie and it was delicious! Must support local businesses while you’re here!"
"Great take out place that lots of locals frequent. We were recommended to go here by a friend that used to live here. We mentioned this and Smiley's gave us a free strawberry guava cheesecake. It was so amazing! So grateful for their kindness. We loved the Katsu chicken and garlic butter chicken. Great dinner salad as well. We would definitely go back and recommend Smiley's."
"Sophia from Kauai Mountain Tubing recommended this place, and it was an excellent recommendation. Stopped by after a visit to Hanamalu Beach. Grabbed a few dishes and ate out of the car for a little. Eventually decided to make the quick drive to Lyndgate Beach so we can eat with a view. Anyway, park and order at the window (you don't go into the store). Staff were friendly and the food was ready pretty quickly. The food was DELICIOUS. Easily top 5 meals on the island. No seating arrangement. There is public bathroom if you ask for the key."
"THE best plate we’ve had - I got the garlic shrimp & garlic chili chicken plate and my partner got the special of seared togarashi crusted ahi, both came with a generous portion of rice and the BEST mac salad (not too mayo heavy and great flavors). We’re so happy we got to enjoy these plates as our last dinner in Hawaii / Kauai. Definitely come here if you want some local food, the staff is also super friendly! There’s a bit of a wait around dinner, so if you’re in a rush I suggest calling in your order. Otherwise you can hang in your car or outside if the weather is nice. Will be suggesting this to friends and family who visit!"
"Tonight, my partner and I ordered dinner there. We had Garlic butter shrimp, Moco Loco, half Smiley’s fried chicken with garlic chili sauce, and half Teriyaki chicken. The order took 20’ and everything was delicious! I recommend not ordering more than two dishes per couple, because the plates are succulent. The best food in Kauai and dishes ate abundant, even “mini” (half) plates."
