Discount Tire

"They get two stars, because I *did* get a tire rotation. (At least, I have to assume I did. The questionable customer service and lack of knowledgeable employees does give me a bit of pause.) But the three employees I interacted with were rude, unhelpful, and did not complete my servicing as requested. I do NOT recommend this location. There aren't many things this Discount Tire seems to be doing right. The first employee I tried to check-in with for my rotation appointment was extremely confused when I tried to explain to him that I wanted my spare rotated in and that it would need to be mounted on the correct wheel. This is something I always have done with my rotations and have never once had any confusion. It's a pretty basic service. But he was so unclear on what I wanted that, after trying a handful of times to explain it to him, I just asked to check in with someone else. I was genuinely worried that they wouldn't complete the service correctly under his guidance. I wait for another employee to come available who, as expected, did know what I was talking about. However, this location wanted to charge double what I normally pay for the mount/dismount fee to have the spare rotated in. (It's normally $22, and they were quoting me $50.) I asked if he could explain the difference maybe by comparing their itemization to the receipts from my past visits. He did not give me a satisfactory explanation; just something like "that's what we charge, I don't know why they undercharged the other times." Very unhelpful. (This man's name was Dave/David, and I see he's actually mentioned in other reviews for similar treatment of customers.) Since he couldn't explain to me WHY I should be paying double, I opted for just the basic free rotation that comes with my warranty. I had a scheduled appointment, but because the check-in process took so long they didn't even have me on the docket until ~30min after my scheduled time despite my having showed up on time. Then they told me it'd be at least an hour wait. So I wait. The tech comes out to bring my key when they're done and tells me that if I experience some vibration it's due to caked mud "inside there" (no explanation as to what he meant) that they couldn't get off. I found this very odd, because I experienced no vibration issue BEFORE bringing it in??? He took me so off-guard by saying this that I didn't know how to respond, but I'm really kicking myself for not questioning this statement. It made me extremely uncomfortable with the job they did. He also assured me that the tires were aired up as requested, which they were not. They also didn't reset the TPMS, which is just a basic part of completing a tire rotation. Between the poor customer service, the lack of knowledgeable employees, the long wait times even with a scheduled appointment, and the clear lack of attention to detail and servicing requests I'd say -- DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION. In the case that someone from this location wants to reply to this review, rather than spending your time doing that please try to improve the conditions at your shop."

"They were unable to fix my flat tire. Reason given was that the location was too close to the rim of the tire so they tried to sell me a new tire that I could not afford to buy. Declined offer to purchase new tire and just had my air checked for free in the four remaining good working tires on my vehicle. Tire repair and rotation would have been free if they were able to fix the flat."

"Have been using them for about 4 years now and have not had any problems yet. We go through a lot of tires on our hellcat and they have always been able to get my nitto 305's even if the website says out of stock. I also run staggered (275 on front) and it's never a problem."

"I have used Discount Tire in the past (5 years ago) and I remembered their fast service, great prices, and tire certificates which insure your tire against any damage, no questions asked. So I tried them again today: I ordered four Michelin Snow Tires for my SUV and got the insurance certificates for just over $1000. I felt like it was a fair price for what I ordered. You could probably walk out of here for about $500 if you bought four smaller, cheaper tires for a car. I made the appointment online and also paid online. When I arrived they inspected my vehicle and tried to upsell me (very low pressure, not a problem) on some wiper blades. I politely declined and that was that. I was told that my vehicle would be next and I would be in and out in about 15 minutes. It ended up taking about 35 minutes, but that was okay as I couldn't do the job myself and I knew I had modern machines and trained staff ensuring my tires were balanced and put on correctly. No worries for me, which gives me the peace of mind to enjoy my new tires. Plus they seemed a little busy even with about 8-10 guys on staff. Overall it was a good experience with only minor complaints. Heck, no place is perfect so I'm still giving it a 5 out of 5. Thanks, Discount Tire! My new tires are smooth and make my vehicle feel young again."
