"Not just the best martial arts studio, BUT genuinely one of the best instructional classes I've ever seen in my entire life. Master Shim is not just a black belt -- he has a degree in education and it totally shows! The curriculum at this studio is unparalleled. Like most children, my son wants to be taught and treated like a grown up. Why? Because it's cool. :) sure, kids like fun but it's cool for them to learn the real way -- the way grown ups do. Master Shim holds every student accountable without making them feel bad. He doesn't hand out belts like consolation prizes -- students EARN their belts. I love this. They also uphold the values of the belt system (see photos) inside the studio, at home, and at school. How? If my son wants to test for a belt, he has to get a form signed by me AND his school teacher!!! I love this. Okay, now for the best story: My 7 year old gets in trouble often at school for talking too much. One day, he got in a lot of trouble for disrupting the class. We came to Master Shim's class later that day and he showed such great behavior that Master Shim pointed it out. Anyhow, I'm just saying that your kid will benefit from the organization, structure, and positive encouragement at MSTKD! BTW, the studio is conveniently located right next to Safeway, across from Fry's Marketplace. So doing some grocery shopping after is always a perk! :)"

"I never imagined myself at 51 years old starting to do Taekwondo, but I’m so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried this. I’m in an adult class with other women.
