ATI Physical Therapy - Tempe

"My surgeon recommended surgery for my back and physical therapy afterwards. He recommended ATI Physical Therapy in Tempe. I went there and I had a great session. My physical therapist was wonderful. I was told that my insurance was in network and I didn't have a co-pay. Then everything went down the tubes. I got a bill from ATI for $130. My insurance is supposed to cover almost all of it. When I called the main office, they didn't have any insurance information on me at all. I told them that I gave one of the workers my insurance card at the ATI location in Tempe off of rural Road. They still said they didn't have anything. I gave them my insurance information and they said it would take 45 days to correct. I actually called the Tempe location on Rural Road and asked to talk to scheduling. The person that answered the phone was Josh. He was totally snide and rude. He told me that there was a lapse in my insurance and that they had to bill me out of pocket , I told him that there was no lapse in my insurance, and that they were trying to bill the insurance and me out-of-pocket simultaneously to make double the money, which is fraud. He then said, "well, if it turns out that you really do have insurance then we can fix the whole thing, no problem." I went off on him. I said, I didn't like his rude, disrespectful matter that he was talking to me in, and that I would be contacting his corporate office to let them know how he's been treating his customers. I also asked to be canceled from all future appointments. I'm contacting the corporate office tomorrow. The bottom line, is that one of their workers failed to input my insurance information into their system, and I was billed for a session when I wasn't supposed to. They refused to own up to this, and instead say that I have a lapse in coverage. I'm also contacting the Attorney General's office tomorrow and the federal trade commission ."
