"The staff- tech, bht, nurse, psych, social workers, etc- were phenomenal! And the treatment and activities are helpful, if you commit to participating and getting something out of it. If you need help and a place to be for it all in one location, this is your place. Though I highly recommend you get every medical professionals opinion and multiple times... They are overworked, overwhelmed, and many are underpaid and you have to be your best advocate and use all of your options (which can be very hard to do on top of taking care of your health). I do feel empathy burnout towards the patients and staff because of the rules, environment, organization, and procedures forced upon everyone which honestly felt like it was a lighter form of incarceration. I understand the 'why' but it's not good enough and needs reform both for the staff and patients. ... Also be prepared for your insurance to fight you, not tell you everything, give you the run around, and leave you with large costs (again hard to deal with on top of taking care of your health). HOWEVER, your care is worth it- you'll find a way to pay with their business office. However, I did hear from many people that this is the best organization in AZ (even in the US) and they highly recommend Aurora."
"As a former employee it has been an incredibly rewarding experience that has significantly contributed to my professional and personal growth. From day one, I was welcomed into a supportive and collaborative team environment where everyone is passionate about providing exceptional care and support to our patients. The hospital's commitment to evidence-based practices and continuous learning has enabled me to enhance my skills and knowledge in the field of behavioral health. The management team is truly commendable for their open-door policy and willingness to listen to employee feedback. They consistently strive to improve the workplace and ensure that the staff are equipped with the necessary resources to perform their roles effectively. This proactive approach to addressing challenges and fostering a positive work culture has made a significant impact on both employee satisfaction and patient outcomes. Moreover, the hospital's dedication to patient-centered care is evident in every aspect of its operations. It's inspiring to work in an environment where the well-being of the patients is the top priority, and every team member is committed to making a positive difference in their lives. The multidisciplinary approach to treatment ensures that patients receive comprehensive care tailored to their individual needs. I would highly recommend this hospital as a place of employment for those looking to make a meaningful impact in the field and as a premier choice for individuals seeking compassionate and effective behavioral health care."
"Edit. - I am in shock about this facility. I have officially blocked their number because it’s already escalated to “criminal harassment” from a team of “professional behavioral health” staff at Aurora. Desiree specifically hung up on me yesterday then gaslit me and now a “quality control” coordinator who just cut my story off mid-sentence to yell over me about how “this isn’t a concern. All her nurses are so much nicer than what I’m trying to pretend to say” before I could even raise my concern on the phone after calling ME this morning after removing MY review out of concern for THEIR staff. I just lost a family member and close friend this week. I’m not putting up with a mental health facility calling me while I’m organizing a food drive because they would rather gaslight mental health patients than train their staff proper empathetic care. Aurora Behavioral Health is/was criminally negligent 2/4-2/9/2024 and purses criminal harassment for recourse instead of proper retraining or objective record-keeping. They will re-write records to shift narrative for themselves. I may pursue legal recourse from this point forward. Backstory: I posted a one star review about their nursing staff bullying me and other patients willingly Now their staff is calling me to harass me each day about my reviews or literally yell over me. I have now blocked their number and had to call the facility to ask for my personal number to be removed. This is a terrible organization ran by individuals who enjoy money and destroy lives"
"So far so well. My teen son has been admitted for two days now and he seems to be doing well. Intake can take HOURS so be very prepared. I had work at 5 pm we came in at 2:45 and I had to ask for them to rush a little and got out of there at 5:15. I believe it would have been much longer. Everyone we interacted with was for the most part professional. Communication is very good and I have gotten a call from staff at least twice a day. My son can call whenever he is not in group and it’s just a blessing to get him the help he needs."
"Here's part of my story. I had paid off all my debts December of 2020 I was 1 point from a 640 credit score, which is needed for first time home buyers assistance. I dreamt all my life of owning a home. My parents had always been renters and this was a life goal. I was going to stay in my apartment and buy at the end the lease a year later. In February of 2021 is when after a bike ride I noticed two huge lump in my groin area. It was bilateral inguinal hernias. The surgeon also mentioned muscle behind the bellybutton was torn. Having just started my new health insurance plan, they had a 6 month waiting period for hernia surgery. With my debts paid off I thought I could pay for this myself. Get a loan to cover expenses like rent and food while recovering. Paying the surgeon and the hospital some money up front I found myself with a title loan on a car I just spent 6 paying off. I had surgery in March and spent April recovering. After paying rent for May the money was gone. My recovery period was and I was ready to get back to work. However, that is when the transmission needed replacing. That was another $3,000 of debt. The repair took a week longer because of supply chain issues. Still owing the hospital, surgeon and the anesthesiologist, which I didn't find out about the anesthesiologist until I got the $4,000 bill in the mail. I just worked as much as possible in order to pay these debts and rent. From may of 2021 I struggled to pay these debts and rent. Working from 8 am until about 10 pm delivering for Amazon, whole foods, lyft rides and Walmart deliveries. I was fortunate to be able to purchase a second vehicle which was needed for all the driving that I was needing to do. November of 2022 I got COVID and was sick for 3 weeks. While sick my mother was dying. Out the nowhere she forgot where she was and called me crying for help. Her mind was going and her passing was December 29 2022. Because of the debt and covid I was not able to see her before she passed. That breaks my heart. The debt from my surgery took so much from me that I filed bankruptcy so that I could pay the rent and not have to work so hard. In June I was in a car accident that totalled my money making car. That same week I was offered a job with a large insurance company. I was so excited. I had a lite at the end of this tunnel I have been in for over 2 years. However, losing the money making car put me in a tight spot. I was two and half months away from my start date. Being depressed for over 20 and feeling suicidal for over 2 years. I wanted to get help with my mental health, lose 20 lbs and keep my apartment before I started the new job. I had received my denial rental assistance and a 5 day notice on the same day. I was feeling overwhelmed and reached out for help, I thought. On a Tuesday I volunteered to go into Aurora behavioral health in Tempe AZ at the direction of the crisis team. On Wednesday I checked out where I was and knew that inpatient was not right for me. I needed to work in order avoid eviction. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday,. Monday I told them everyday that they were hurting me and making my life harder. I spoke with 2 doctor, 2 supervisors, counselor, patient advocate and no one cared. If I would have been able to leave when I asked I could of kept from being evicted. The following Tuesday when I was allowed to leave Aurora, I spoke with the manager and if I could come up with half the rent we could make a payment plan for the rest. If Aurora behavioral health in Tempe AZ would not have kept me in a place that was not helping me I would not be homeless today. I should of just taken a shower, spoke with the manager and never had tried to get help for my depression and suicidal thoughts. I attempted suicide on Sept 7 and I had never done that before. Thanks Dr Luna, you suck."
